Strength of a chimp?

A lot of scientists recently have been saying that chimpanzees are not as powerful as they are made out to be.

The thing is though if chimps are not really that much stronger than the average man then how did Travis rip the face and hands of that woman? Granted Travis was exceptionally large for a chimp at 200 pounds and I think average male chimp is only 150 lbs.

What are your thoughts on this?

I just looked this up. They reckon that a chimpanzee is 1.5 to 2 times more stronger than the average man. They also reckon that this wouldn't make them strong enough to rip an arm or hand off with their hands but they could easily do it with their teeth.

Did Travis rip this persons face and hand off with his teeth?

I think he did use his teeth because the woman was shouting and screaming "he's eating me".

I don't know if a gorilla could rip your arm off but I reckon they would be capable of breaking every bone in a man's body without even trying.
