Not let in because of shaved head

One of my friends recently was not let into a pub/nightclub by door security because he had a shaved head.

Do you think he could report them for discrimination for that?

No.  Likely, your friend has not told you ALL of the details, for instance:

• Was he drunk or stoned?
• Was he acting like a chav?
• Was he wearing inappropriate clothing?
• Was he with a group of rowdy people?
• Was he already on the club's "Blacklist"?

Also, doormen are usually there to "cast" the night's attendees -- people who fit a pre-defined profile are let in, and people who are not let in are given some bogus excuse.

what do you mean by pre-defined profile in more depth?

One of my friends shaves his head and was once accused of being a skin head.He isn’t, shaves it because it’s easy to take care off.

A crew cut is just as easy to look after, even more so. You don't have to cut it *every* day whereas you have to shave *every* day to keep it shaved.

Highly insensitive of you. You just don't talk about a man like that. It not a fashion statement. He's clearly losing his hair and decided to cut it all off. James, you should have defended your friends honor. And slapped the bouncer. This was deeply hurtful. And definitely an incredibly evil act of discrimination.

That's why I avoid those sorts of places like the plague. I don't like the bouncers. Any tiny little trivial thing they don't like about you and they reject you or kick you out without giving you any time to explain.

One time a friend of my mum's was in a bar and someone had spiked her drink. She got very ill and needed medical attention, but the bouncers thought she was just very drunk (even though she wasn't at all), and they threw her out and she ended up laying in the cold, wet street, crying in agony. Luckily someone came along and called an ambulance. But she was so traumatized from that night that she has never been to a bar since.

I have a friend with alopecia. It doesn’t affect his entire scalp - just blotches of it here and there. If he didn’t shave his head, it would look like he had mange. I guess if you want to say avoiding looking like mange is a fashion statement, so be it.

People on chemotherapy lose their hair and some choose not to wear a scarf or wig to hide it. I guess that’s a fashion statement too.

Some people are losing their hair due to age and shave their heads rather than do a comb-over. Another fashion statement.

For those who aren’t sure, this post is sarcasm.

Why the hate?

My context was people who haven't any health issues.
People who haven't problems are better off with a crew cut to reduce maintenance, imo.
Men with male pattern baldness should simply accept it and do a "Picard" rather than shave it on a daily basis if they want to make life easier, imo.
