Does anyone else enjoy comedies intended for children/teens? I’m not talking about kids shows meant to teach you shapes and colors, but movies like Secret Life of Pets, Sing, Fragglerock, Muppets. I’m not interested in adult comedy films that talk about adult things such as sex, innuendos, etc. I’d much rather watch something wholesome but funny, that I know isn’t going to be vulgar.. Now, I do enjoy action movies but only a select few have really captured my attention. Like John Wick, I’ve become obsessed with those films... but really I’d just rather watch movies/shows intended for kids/teens.

I find most modern kid's movies are really stupid and barely watchable. They're full of fart jokes and graphic bathroom "humor". I don't understand how even three year olds can enjoy them. But that's how I've felt about most movies and TV shows since the early 2000s. And the teen "sitcoms" are not funny at all and have an insanely loud and obnoxious laugh track.

I'll always have a soft spot for Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. Although the Muppet show was supposed to be more for adults. There was a lot of adult humor that I didn't get as a kid. And apparently the classic Sesame Street I grew up watching isn't suitable for kids anymore.

No wonder people have mid-life crisis in their 40s. More than ever it's harder and harder to cope with all the changes in the world. It's like everything I enjoyed as a kid is now WRONG and has either been canceled or is going to be. Every Christmas I hear the same nonsense about Rudolph and even the Peanuts special. Do non-Christian people really get that offended by Linus explaining to Charlie Brown what Christmas is all about?

Imagine how my parents must feel. :(

There are a lot of good Kids movies that are not all potty humor and have good messages. Try the movie Sing and Sing 2. I like Universal animated films.

I like kids movies and shows, and watch them pretty often.

People always try to assert that they're stupid and unwatchable, but the same people often think that the stuff they watched as a kid is just fine, and usually adults then thought that stuff was unwatchable, too. Media is constantly changing and it seems that older people are always going to get crabby at the fact these things aren't the same as when they were a kid.

There are some recent kids movies and shows that are crap, but there were ones that were crap when I was a kid, too, and people usually focus on the bad ones that stand out and that they hear about from others. A lot of the stuff I watch now is honestly made a lot better and is much more thought out than the stuff I watched as a kid. Sometimes I get a little jealous that kids nowadays get to watch such cool, well made things.

People who cannot handle change are halting progression, but also some things do not need to be changed. I don’t believe many things are absolute. Not ALL kids movies/shows are bad, not ALL Tik Tok videos are bad, etc. You can find good and bad in everything. Opening up your mind to the good things in the bad is better for your mental health.

There are a lot of really dumb things that are made for kids, but there are some good ones in there too. Lilo and Stitch for example.

IMO, it's interesting that whenever one things of kids movies, such a person thinks of Pixar.

Even though Pixar has made some great movies over the course of time, not all of it was good.
(Example: the first two Cars movies.)

@ B42: You are certainly are right about Universal & its animated stuff.
