How do you pronounce GIF?

With the "g" sound in "gift" or "giraffe"? Some people say it should be pronounced with a hard "g" because the "g" stands for "graphics" not "jraphics". Others say that it doesn't matter, because for instance, "scuba" is not said with the "u" sound in "underwater".

I pronounce 'GIF' with a hard 'G', as in 'Graphic' (not with a soft 'g', as in 'giraffic').

"Oh, so you pronounce 'GIF' like 'JIF'!  Did you watch 'Giraffic Park' once too many times?"

I don't care what the inventor of the format calls it. GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format - there is no J sound involved.
