Neither can I.

I've never greatly missed the capability, though.

Yes. I still remember when I finally learned how as a kid. Then I wouldn't stop whistling and drove everyone crazy.

Whistling at school was completely forbidden when I was a kid. That's just plain weird.

Yeah. Various ways. Signalling and I can make music with such.

I still use it for signalling, as someone around here has hearing damage and wears ear muffs a lot, and I don't want to startle said someone because I tend to walk quietly without much in the way of weight.

I can whistle very quietly using my front teeth. I can’t whistle in the usual way. But whistling is something that irrationally irritates me anyway.

I never could whistle. I can occasionally wheeze due to bad allergies which can sound like a very soft whistle when I breath. I vaguely remember an ep of the old Dennis The Menace show where Mr. Wilson could not whistle & he ended up losing a tooth or two(I forget how) & then he could whistle. I'm wondering if my teeth could be the reason why I cant. I had to get braces for a few years & when the insurance ran out, the orthodontist said it was the best that could be done even thou my teeth were far from perfect. I didn't wear my retainer much after & my teeth shifted back some. I have a bit of a cross-bite but it doesn't really bother me.

Yes.
I can even do the type with fingers in my mouth, or a blade of grass.
I'm not great at it but it's necessary with a dog.

I can do the usual puckered lip tune whistle or wolf whistle.

And I can whistle by holding my tongue against my upper molars and curling it.

But I can't do the stick index finger and thumb in mouth loud hail a taxi whistle. I wish I could because it would have come in handy on several occasions.

I gave that a try and was able to do it.

I'm checking out some YouTube videos on how to do the loud "taxi whistle", and actually had some moderate success. So I might be able to master it. Practicing sure involves making myself dizzy though.

Only when sucking in instead of blowing out. I figure it's to do with my teeth, as I've got quite big front teeth.

Yes, my grandpa tried to teach me how to do it when I was a preteen girl but finally I discovered the way how to do it myself, on my own :)
