Why not?

This is one I made up on the spur of the moment using my lenormand cards.

I asked the question "What will a confrontation between China and the US be like?' And you guys might be surprised to learn that I pulled some very positive cards here...

I decided to use "The Lady" to represent China and "The Gentleman" to represent the USA.





For The US I pulled "The Fish" which is about wealth and prosperity, "The Clover" which is about good luck, and "The Stars" which are about hope.

For China I pulled "The Scythe" which means something will be cut, "The Lily" which is a card with the double meaning of sex and virtue (depending on the context), and "The Home" which is about safety and security.

In the very center I pulled "The Garden" which is about social interactions between two nations.

I think a lot of this on China's part relates to what has been in the news about China's population problem. Their strict one child policy has caused problems for what I heard. Maybe the scythe combined with the sexual-metaphor lily is symbolic of their sexual repression? I have also read that due to their aging and declining population that the government is encouraging its citizens to produce more children by laxing the one child policy laws and permitting unmarried couples to have children.

On America's side however the cards seem to imply that things will get better for us (at least economically). Somehow out of pure luck things in my country will take a turn for the better. The clover is pure luck and the fish represents an abundance of wealth for everyone.

The other three cards: Home, Stars, and Garden I think means a shared interest in national security but also wanting to be in the spotlight on the world stage.

I see a return to diplomacy between the two nations in our future, no actual war. So that's good I think.

Or maybe the cards for the US have a more sinister meaning? Implying that predatory capitalism will prevail with the blessing of the demon Mammon?

Aren't there enough ways to interpret meanings when doing this that it really depends on what you'd like?

None of it makes any sense to me. It's just pictures.

Are you saying I'm wrong about greed being the monster that keeps on feeding?

No, I agree with that.
I'm just saying we'd know that to be true regardless of which cards are drawn.

The predictions have as much to do with what you know about the world and how you evaluate it as they do with the cards. Even without relying on cards, I'm willing to bet your predictions would be pretty similar.

Honestly the whole card reading thing is just really fun, at least it is for me.

Sometimes these cards are more like a mirror to reflect on current events than a magical tool for actually peering into the future.

Full on that's what I figured, that they're more of a tool for putting thoughts together.

It's definitely in the same category as a ouija board, fun but some people take them far too seriously. I'm not asking questions to be debunk it or ridicule though, I ask those sorts of questions genuinely to hear your perspective.

I don't always intend to be incisive when I ask a question, sometimes it really is just a naive attempt to understand someone else's perspective on something.

I don't believe I'm as smart as some people might think I think I am.

I admit I sometimes take them too seriously myself.

But I'm slowly learning that the occult can be more mundane than people think.

So basically this is how I intrepret the cards I pulled for China and the USA.

The Lily combined with The Scythe means "cutting growth". It definetly makes me think of The CCP's draconian measures to prevent the country from overpopulating through their one child policy, but now they are coming to regret it.

The Clover combined with The Fish means "economic prosperity" which will be obtained by pure luck. America might just pull through this turmoil but the fact still remains that we are a capitalistic society that puts too much faith into the value of money. That in itself is a double edged sword too.

And we'll probably always be dependent on China tbh.

Here's a personal, non-political card reading I did for myself.



This one isnt a lenormand reading however, it's a cartomancy using regular playing cards with a method I invented myself.

Taking one Joker card to represent myself or another person who I read for I place it in the very center surrounded by three cards.

Card One: What was I? 8 of Clubs. Someone who burns through money.

Card Two: What am I? King of Diamonds. Consulting this 'ruler of riches' (Call him Pluto/Mammon whatever he's the ruler of money and materialism) I may one day learn to be smart with what little money I get and see my wealth accumulate over time and grow.

Card Three: What will I become? 10 of Diamonds. I may one day become very rich, or at least have enough money to live comfortably. But I must change my spending habits first.

This also seems to coincide with my other prediction about the US recovering economically.

A tarot prediction I made on the "Gaia Hypothesis" about how our earth is a living organism trying to expell us from her body like we would expell a germ from our system with a fever.

Because it's not nice to fool with Mother Nature!



The very center card I ended up pulling was (Surprise!) The Empress. The card representing the miracle birth of life itself as our planet is really the only planet we know of that actually supports life.

The cards surrounding her are the 5 of Wands, Wheel of Fortune, 5 of Coins, Seven of Swords, Four of Swords, Knight of Cups, The Emperor, Temperance, Strength, and finally the 10 of Swords.

My guess is her human children will destroy themselves through war and a great flood will wash away what is left of us thanks to Climate Change. I also think The Emperor is the Sky God of the Heavens, our Father God and the mate of our Mother Earth Goddess. The Knight of Cups represents an angelic being of some sort in the service of the gods who will bring great floods to the world (I'm unfamiliar with the archangels though).

This is about restoring the balance of the earth and reminding humans that nature is still the boss.

Seems fair, my money's on that we won't wipe out life on earth, but we'll probably wipe ourselves out unless we make significant changes.

I agree, and honestly it's not a true "future prediction" because it's not revealing anything you and I don't already know (about climate change and the risk of total war). But the random cards I pulled are an interesting way to reflect on this. Especially that "Empress" card. I told myself that if either The Empress or The World card showed up first in the center of this reading it would be a neat coincidence.

I wonder, historically, how many people who foretold the future for powerful people believed in their fortune telling and how many just learned as much as possible and used the fortune telling as an excuse to not explain the complicated logic their liege didn't want to listen to anyways?

You know, hmm, the boss is too stupid/lazy/self-absorbed to listen to reason, but he's superstitious. I know how to tell him; the birds forecast this bad thing will happen if you do that stupid thing I can't just call stupid because you'll kill me and then go ahead and do it.
