If Travis the 200 pound chimp could rip of a woman’s face and hands then what could an enraged alpha male silver back gorilla do in your opinion?

Females don't become silverbacks. It's something that happens to dominant males (not all males either).

Older, dominant male gorillas. They get all grizzled and grey on their backs. It seems lady gorillas are into that look. :P
