My Therapist told me that some of my problem is that I don't act like or fit into any generational age group..
And that my diet, the things that I do and like are typical of people much older than myself.

So this is what I told her.

First of all, people are people.

Lets start with this...
I'm English, Irish and Scottish.. I'm not black and i'm not hispanic
and I'm not going to walk around wearing clothing that is about black racial unity like "FUBU".
I have nothing to celebrate or engage in, with a Black political protest.

Rap isn't how I live my life, its not how I conduct myself and it isn't how I identify myself and I feel no connection to it and its harder to understand than some give it credit for.
Its about crime on the street from a criminal's screwed up perspective on life.

Thats not me and even if it were, that's not my interpretation of my life and it isn't my behavioral pattern or criminology or criminal behavioral pathology and it isn't how I would organize my criminal conduct.

And as a native speaker of English I don't understand a mixture of severely broken english, a hideous accent and south American and Caribbean spanish and nobody would.
They don't just need to learn to read simple English.
They need speech therapy.
Most people with "LEP" or "Limited English Proficiency" need speech therapy as well as education.

Lets move on...

My diet reflects the fact that I have nothing wrong with my body.

I don't have Diabetes.
I don't have Gout.
I don't have Crohn's Disease.
I don't have Acid Reflux.
I don't have GERD.
I don't have any food or drug allergies.

I don't have Asthma and I don't have COPD or Congestive Heart Failure or anything of the sort.

I'm not saying anything bad about those who do, I'm saying that I... I do NOT.

I get to have that deep fried fish and chips and cole slaw.
I get to have that Steak with fried onions and fried portabella mushrooms, with those loaded mashed potatoes and a Bloomin' onion.
I get to have that Macaroni and cheese.

I get to have that icecream with a chocolate brownie and whipped cream and peanut butter icecream sauce and choclate syrup with the cherry ontop.

I get to have that Chili, Rice and Cornbread.
I get to have those Barbecue baby back ribs and fried chicken.

I get to have that Chicken Marsala and soup and breadsticks and spaghetti.

I get to go to Taco bell and have that Cheesy Gordita Crunch and Nacho cheese fries and that big coke or mountain dew.
I get to go to McDonalds and have that Big Mac, fries, coke combo with an added Chocolate shake.

I get to go to the Pizza Parlor and have a meatlovers deep dish square pizza.

I get to have it, because nothing is wrong with the way that my body functions.
Period.
That's it.

It doesn't matter that more people of generation Y have those issues than people of other generations.
I do NOT.
That's what matters.

The Motorcycles.

I don't care if more people generation Y were raised soley by their mothers in a broken family.
I was not...
I had both my mom and my dad.. both biological.
Period.

I was never told to scream at the top of my lungs... "IM GONNA DIEE... AAHHHH" at the thought of a motorcycle or driving a forklift..
Like a chickenshit wuss.

I can actually take the good with the bad and measure how much danger that I'm really in and how to manage a risk.

The fact of the matter is, risks and danger exists everyday doing anything.

Most people don't die or are ever injured doing anything.
Period.

So what is the problem ?

It seems like they are the problem, not I.

Bottom line: Therapist is offended that you do not fit the therapist's arbitrary personal standards for how other people should exist and live inside their approved categorized boxes.

Why would any of that matter to a psychologist? That's not mental health.

That’s what I was just wondering.

If I received such feedback, I’d find somebody else to go to, perhaps someone with an actual degree.

I wouldn't even be able to say things like that to my psychologists.
They'd say "Huh?", and stop me.
They can't exactly write in their clinical notes that I can eat ice cream and brownies.
Likewise, if they commented on my clothing or behaviour they'd likely lose their licence.

What psychologist would urge someone to fit into their “generational group?” That’s just incredibly bizarre and unlike anything any mental professional I’ve ever worked with would say.

Most people, including most therapists, don’t GAF about that stuff. It’s about finding your own path and being authentic. s**t like that.

I agree. It's the weirdest thing I've ever heard. I eat like that and so do my kids.
I'm not sure why it's even a big deal or worth discussing a paid professional.
Maybe if they were being hired as a personal chef they should know.
Otherwise it just sounds like shameless self-promotion of some sort.

The only way I could understand in-depth conversations about food is if the person’s diet was so restrictive it was affecting their health or if the person had a diagnosed eating disorder. Otherwise, it’s kind of a waste of time and money.

We were talking about my socialization skills with other people and why i'm being called all kinds of things and why people are supposedly "nervous" around me.

I also told her that I don't understand what makes people think that they get to threaten me and talk to me like s**t and not have it thrown back at them or not get beaten up.

Sounds like you need some new friends.
Are they in the CIA?
How do they analyse everything you do and eat?
Why would it matter?

Also wow - that's a lot to cover in one session with all those details.

Did they recommend CBT?

I’m not understanding the connection with food.

What does liking and eating chili and ice cream have to do with anything?

I was addressing all the BS squalking going on about food lately and why I'm not into the squalking bandwagon.
