I live in a tiny room at the YMCA with my mother. There are 2 beds; my mother's is a regular bed and mine is a cot that I have to be careful not to bang into the wall because the woman next door is extra-sensitive to sound. My mother uses a chair as a bedside table and I use the window ledge. There's also a nightstand with a drawer with no bottom, in the bottom of it is food bank food and on top of it is my large suitcase with tons of clothes. I also have a rucksack full of clothes, two large fishing-tackle type boxes of jewelry, a small satchel full of hair elastics of just about every color and style, and some other stuff too... we have several big garbage bags full of laundry and clothes that we washed by hand hanging on the pole in the closet-like nook to dry, also there are usually drying clothes draped over the back of the chair. and sometimes on my closed suitcase or the window ledge. Each of our beds has a light over it; mine is much higher up on the wall because there sued to be a desk there.

My room is pretty small (the way I like it), has a desk, an expensive sound system that I got from a yard sale for under $100, a closet and a bed. Yup, thats pretty much it.

Well I keep it pretty tidy and in order nowadays.

When I was much younger and more foolish, and "way back when", it did look like the late Keith Moon's hotel rooms after one of my meltdowns

My room's in the middle of being redecorated right now. I'll show you a picture of it once it's finished! My other room is sorta just there (Yes, I have two bedrooms to myself.).

My bedroom is a mess!
It is about 10' square with a double bed in the middle against the back wall - it has not been slept in and has not been made for a month on it wrapped with some of my bed clothes is my big white teddy bear . To the right of the bed is a chair upon which are a number of personal bedside items next to it is a clothes rail full of dresses and with more thrown over the top. Next is a box full of clothes most of which don't fit and aught to be sorted and thrown away, behind that blocking off a partition to the living room an old school desk underneath which are boxes & cases of old cloths most of which have not been unpacked since I moved in 7 years ago on top buried under a heap of more old clothes is a box containing a toy collection (remnant of a discarded obsession), more cloths are strewn about and the door will not fully open because of them. Along the wall in front of the bet is a chest of draws and a broken 1960's style fitted dressing table unit The chest of drawers is mainly empty except for some items that I like to keep out of sight, on it is a space where I used to have an old Amstrad PC (which was an excellent alarm clock) and a cardboard box full of junk and lots of almost empty make up packaged are strewn all over. The broken dressing table contains my huge hairslide collection with some socks and tights on the top of the top drawer.
Just don't look at the dressing table itself it is a mess and a half! on top is a box of more junk and several half used bottles of sunscreen.
I believe in the Quentin Crisp strategy on housework "After three years the dust does not get an thicker".
Donald's place in Mozart and the Whale was tidy compared to my place :)

Our bedroom has a Queen sized bed. The sheets are usually ripped out with doonas and pillows on the floor because our 3 sons use our bed as their wrestling ring. We don't mind though!

The walls have lots of photos of our family. There are also lots of drawings and paintings by the boys.

The bedside tables are cluttered with various children's books, stamp catalogues (my husband collects stamps), gardening catalogues (I love gardening), engineering journals (my husband is an engineer), physiotherapy journals (I'm a physio), dinosaur books.

On the floor are toy cars, toy dinosaurs, bits of lego, bits of bionicles. There are also kids' shoes and socks - they take them off before starting their wrestle fights. Various bits of my belly-dance costumes are on the floor. The boys like dressing up in my belly-dancing clothes!

Every now and then I get sick of the mess and will spend about 2 hours tidying up our room. But it gets messy again very quickly.

But I don't mind the mess because it's created by a happy, wrestling trio of sons.

Helen

My room consists of my bed, the dresser I keep some of my clothes in, and my large sweet L shaped computer desk, and my sweet comfy rolling leather computer chair, and often myself. I don't know how to describe it any better than that.

Only people that I invite into my home and my family are allowed access to this info. For everyone else: it's not as appealing as it sounds. ;)

My room is usually a dust-choked mess of stuff I haven't thrown away when I really should have done years ago, with action figures arranged on almost every available surface, my Gamecube in one corner and my stereo and CD collection in another, with a desk (also covered in action figures and a lava lamp) next to it, and on the opposite side to my stereo is my large wardrobe filled with both clothes and junk. My shelves are packed with books of all descriptions, and my room has two large sash windows that reduce wall space drastically (and make my room horribly cold during the winter, as they are both single-glazed - since my house is a listed building, double-glazing is not permitted).

Mr richardbenson Day 13? Very well done!! !! Big time congrats and hope for a life time of more to come 8) More then a few here that have done it, but it isn't always easy. It is day by day, but sometimes it can be second by second, hang in there.

Ahh can't describe it, I don't sleep in one and haven't for years. Now if you would like me to describe the living room, well, don't think that's what you mean. There is no bed in it, just a soft spot.

Sorry what is your height? Most people cannot sleep in a cot.

I'm anywhere from 5'3" to 5'7". LOL. I guess it's a bigger cot than normal.

I have a relatively long room comapred to it's width. Id say its about 9ft wide and 40 ft long. Its actually an extension build onto the side of my parents and has a plastic roof, but thats all sealed off now with lots of insulation. I can still hear the rain on the roof though, which I love.

At one end I have my double bed. At the other end is like a little living room, Ive got my TV and laz-e-boy. My guitars are hanging on the wall out of the way. The two parts of the room are separated by my computer and a wardroble, which leaves the room like open plan. My bookshelf is in the living room, and on one of the shelves is Perseus's home. Perseus is my milk snake.

I have no sense of distance; I'm unsure of how big my room is (it's the smallest bedroom in the house; that's all I know. I insisted on it when we moved because it had purple walls :P).

The floor is cherry wood; the walls are lighter blue with a horse border (leftover from an earlier obsession). It's not square. There's six walls; the one the door is on is slanted to meet the slanted one next to it.

My bed (a wooden four poster with a bunch of marks on it due to it belonging to my inanimate objects abuser ex-stepcousin for a time) is in the middle (to clash with the rest of the room, it has red sheets). Above it is a giant dream catcher (another old obsession leftover); a red curled border thingy (I have no idea what it's called) is strung across that wall. There are also three "prayer" feathers, a cross, and a little sign that says "Warning: I have an attitude and I know how to use it!" (My mother gave it to me. She's not too subtle... :P)

On the left of my bed is a nightstand that has a bunch of stuff on top of it, but more under it (it has a shelf for books that's kind of overflowing). There's a pile of books in front of it, and a huge decorative pillow, bag, and a few stuffed animals next to it. Above it hangs a little pillow that I've had since forever, a name tag (which I didn't make) from 1st grade, and a poster of Entre Les Trous De La Memorie. Next to that is my dresser (which matches the nightstand). There's a bunch of stuff on top of that (I need to clean); a few drawings my mother did for fun are stuck to the side of my mirror. Next to that (by this point you're at the door) is a bunch of shoes which I try to keep in some semblance of order. On the wall above it are three more "prayer" feathers, a bronze feather, a dream catcher charm/keychain, a poetry award (which I really need to take down; I don't like it), a copy of the poem "Ithaca", a newspaper article about our writing team, a medal, a fortune cookie saying ("Don't worry about the world coming to an end. It's already tomorrow in Australia." Interestingly enough, at the time I was paranoid about the end of the world; I found the saying to be comforting, if illogical, so I kept it), and two strips of tape where other things were hanging (a state writing award and a "gifted young writer" award) but have fallen and I don't feel like putting back up.

Then there's my door (being held open currently with a Keith's Saddle Shop bag and groom bag). On the wall behind it is a Japanese fan. On the next wall is my closet door. The music stand (its name is Hamilton, by the by) is in front of it. Next to that is a bunch of paper from safety wrapping a cow statue, and a stacking container for more clothes. It's kinda overflowing... I have a tendency to use that instead of my dresser, and I don't fold things well.

Next wall; my desk (with a bunch of stuff on top of it, including my laptop). The window is on the wall in front of it. Then there's some wires (chargers), and a picture board I took down recently. I don't know what I'm going to do with it. Above that is a poster of Venice Dusk. Back on the floor, there's a pile of CD cases. In front/beside that is my stereo. Then there's a bookcase with a bunch of random stuff on the top shelves and books on the bottom shelves. There's a broken radio in front of it (poor thing gave out after over a decade), my Spanish folder (don't know why, but it's there), a bag with all of my CDs (of course they're not in the cases; that would be rational), the trashcan, and a couple of blankets that have fallen from my bed.
