They’re HOV (high occupancy vehicle, 2 or more people) w/ motorcycles OK in most of them. When electric cars first started coming out they were also electric OK, encouraging ppl to buy electric so they could cruise in the HOV lane vs sit in traffic.
Anyways, IMO, eventually they should be heavy trucks and ICE only because vehicles burning fossil fuels should be kept rolling vs idling in rush hour traffic getting 0mpg and polluting for no reason. But I doubt they’ll ever go that way because people who make traffic rules are stupid.
And no, electricity isn’t coal fired here. It’s hydroelectricity -> from water turning turbines in dams, so it’s definitely way more environmentally friendly for Teslas to sit in traffic than Peterbilts or any ICE cars.
