I used to, but got bored with it, and lately all the stereotyped plastic Halloween rubbish that the shops display has put me off even more. Why do these things always have to involve buying stuff and throwing it away afterwards?

Still Love Halloween... think it got to a level of perseveration back as a child. And tried to grow out of it ...
Nope not that lucky ..but still help others trying to set up the ultimate Halloween display .. Think there is a unspoken competition between Hallooweenies and their displays in some areas around me. Almost like a counter culture thing ,whereas people in more fundamentalists areas, tend to assign the devil to all sorts of imagery. And these Hallooweenies, get to be Politically Incorrect for one night a year . Plus display uncommon creativity in, decor and
costuming. Haunted houses , make all their money one season a year. And everybody that seem to engage the holiday , appears to be having fun doing it.

I love Halloween. I love getting to dress up and walk around at night, and watch stupid Halloween movies and horror movies. It's my favourite holiday.

Having grown up in various countries in Europe, and living the rest in Australia, I can say I’ve never really experienced much to do with Halloween. The closest I have come is watching the movies. I have noticed over the past couple of decades that there has been a push by the bigger shopping chains in promoting Halloween here. It’s purely a grab for money, as Australia doesn’t have the connections to Halloween that America does.

I liked when my schools had Halloween & other holiday celebrations because we got out of having class. I do really like pigging out on some Halloween candy like candy corn & candy pumpkins :pig: A few years ago there was candy-corn M&Ms that were really good. I also really like some of the costumes in Halloween themed cosplaying adult vids  Otherwise thou I'm not majorly into the holliday nor any others.

I worked two Halloweens & three Christmases at WalMart & if I didn't already think hollidays were waaay too commercialised, I definetely do now.

Kinda awkward..though.. am not particularily fond of commercializing things..but the USA is a capitalistic country
better commercialized Holidays than all the Commercialization of Modern Warfare .? but just my opinion.

I miss putting on a costume, trick-or-treating, the free candy, and the scary stories afterwards.

Sure, there are many things worse than Halloween, but knowing that doesn't make Halloween any better, it just makes it look better.

I loved it.Kids today have no idea how fun it was.No worries on turning the little monsters loose to prowl the neighborhood for treats and a few tricks.

^^^^ big time Agreement^^^^. but stilll love look at displays ....even watch the very few little monsters that still get out in the more safe areas. Am stsrting to get costume bias..save the full size candy bars for the better costumes
and of course , myself .

I never really did the trick-R-treating thing. Where my parents live is somewhat rural but on a main road that connects two big towns/small cities. There are ditches on side the road instead of sidewalks & traffic goes very fast. My parents used to turn the front-porch light on & occasionally a couple neighbor kids would come to the door but those kids grew up a long time ago. My mom decided to quit turning the light on after going more than five years in a row with nobody coming. Easier for my parents not to worry about being prepared to answer the door just in case. My parents woulda taken me to a different area to go trick-R-treating if I really wanted to but it didn't appeal to me. I disliked if not hated the idea of wearing a costume & I probably woulda only ate about half the candy due to being an extremely picky eater(I'm a lot less picky than I used to be but still extremely picky). I rathered stay home & watch Halloween eps of shows I normally watched or watched some of the classic Halloween movies.

One major problem with Halloween that lots of parents & teachers know is that Halloween is a set day of the month instead of a set day of the week. Some years Halloween is on a Friday or Saturday which is great because kids don't have school the next day. However other years it could be on a Sunday through Thursday night & the next morning it's hard to get the kids ready for school on time & they're wound up in class or falling asleep. My mom & lots of other women on her side of family are teachers(a lot of the women who aren't teachers are nurses so it's no wonder I don't fit in with my family) & I heard lots of complaints about this from my mom, my aunts, & cousins :tired: When I was a kid I woulda preferred for the day after Halloween to be a school holiday & we'd get the Monday off if the day after was a Saturday or Sunday :drunken:

I've always prefered bonfire night (nov 5th).

I used to love Halloween but don't celebrate it anymore.
