100k winds, lots of rain, roads flooding, power transformers blowing up everywhere (not sure what causes that?), tree branches on the roads, power outages all over the place.
Not like a "storm of the century," type storm or anything, but it's a pretty stormy night.. lots of emergency vehicles out on calls. Definitely going to do some damage and cost some money. Hopefully it doesn't claim any lives. Also, I hope my friends that live at the beach are doing ok in the forest.. I remember one of them telling me that the last time there was a major windstorm he had to move inland and find some place to ride it out because it's too sketchy in the forest on the cliffside.. tall trees + very fast onshore winds = getting sprayed with ocean water while fearing that trees could topple around you.
Pretty sure when I was driving down the highway about half an hour ago that the bright flash I saw was a power transformer blowing up vs. lightning. Not 100% sure, but pretty sure. Also kinda surprised how many areas of roads flood like crazy when there's a heavy rain.. like wtf? It rains here all the f*****g time you'd think there wouldn't be major low spot corners that flood like crazy, or dips in the road that hold tons of water.. like get some skills whoever did the asphalt - there are definitely better skilled tradesman that can smooth out hollows in the road and create a gentle grade for water to flow where it's supposed to go. I can see maybe not caring in some dry climate.. but here? Lazy bums.

Maybe you need to be a politician who can give instructions to improve roads? You see theissues and have a ood mind to know how to solve them. As long as you can publicly speak and have an idea for figures (As monies need to be raised without damaging too many people pockets).
I think you would be ideal!
(The transformers can blow when the power lines short as they heat up too much and are incased in oil which is used to cool them. Shorts will heat up the windings and reach a tempreture where the oil suddenly ignites...)

If I ever became a politician it’ll be in my senior years, and especially if I ever have a terminal illness.. with nothing to lose I won’t give a flying f**k if I perpetually have a little red dot on my forehead for saying and doing things that benefit taxpayers vs corrupt insiders.
I know ppl that work for city crews and the social hierarchy of drinking/drug buddies is insane.. the best machine operators push brooms while the bosses friend gets the extra pay operating machines even if he’s s**t at it. It’s very hard to change the culture of a workplace where people only care about their paycheques and not the end result of their work. Same for subcontractors. Some new pavers are terrible and make rippled roads and parking lots, some skilled ones care and deliver smoooooth graded surfaces.. hard to get consistently equally skilled operators that can finesse a huge machine into leaving a nice road, just like it’s hard to learn my trade with a trowel on walls and ceilings. Best we can get are some flooded roads I guess. There are bigger things to care about, but it would be nice if Everyone cared to do their job properly.
I wonder what makes the lines short and heat up in a wind storm ? I don’t know much about electricity. Didn’t know transformers were oil cooled, either.. but totally makes sense considering the existence of Autobots.

Anyways, here’s the damage.. one broken candle holder or something. As they say post storm; “We will rebuild.”
This is the worst I’ve seen from a windstorm here at the back of the house. It’s a very small yard with fences and buildings nearby, so the fact that wind moved all this stuff around is pretty impressive. Usually when it’s really ripping it’s either blocked or just blows by for the most part - quite rare that it swirls just right to do this under the patio cover.
