I tie my shoes this way. Why do people laugh at me because this is the way I tie my shoes?

People associate it with childishness because most people are eventually able to tie their laces "the traditional way".

Which apparently is the wrong way according to Terry Moore.

Only if you tie the weak form, as opposed to the strong form.

I still use the bunny method. I don't think it really matters.

I still employ this method
It's how I learned, and if it's not broke, I don't see a reason to fix it.

Although my shoelaces have a habit of getting undone

I feel like an idiot now because I didn't know there was another way to tie shoes other than the way I was taught. I didn't learn how until I was 9 years old and caught heck for it. Now I wear slip-on shoes because I loathe the texture of shoestrings, and if they don't like it they can go jump in the lake.

I thought the bunny ear method was the main method. I had problems learning to tie shoes due to bad fine motor-skills & a tremor disorder that acts up when using fine motor-skills. My parents started trying to teach me in 5th grade because my school had a uniform policy that included shoes; I shoulda been an exception but the only official diagnoses my parents were able to get for me were dyslexia & ADHD. I was able to learn but I was never great at it. I always wore shoes with velcro outside of school. I buy my shoes online because it can be extremely difficult to find velcro shoes for adults.

I did not even know there were different methods. People are fussy about the strangest things

I think the easiest method I seen was in an ep of Full House. Michelle got frustrated trying to learn to tie her shoes & used bubble-gum to hold the laces in place

I think Bunny Ears is much harder to do than the normal way.
I can't really do it.

Bunny Ears involves a lot more fine motor control when holding the ears.
There's less natural tension too.
