She has to constantly travel the world while Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny only have to travel the world one day a year.

perhaps there are multiple teeth fairies. An army of tiny people eager to collect the mouth bones of children

As you say, there would have to be many tooth fairies. I suspect they each have an area to patrol, much like your local postman. I also think that there is gender equality when they get hired.

But santa has more to do that one night. Visit every single home on the planet.

The tooth fairy just has to visit the kids who loose teeth. The job spread out over the whole year.

Tooth fairy doesn't visit this house for the kids - they have a tooth pig apparently. I think perhaps Tooth fairy HQ are outsourcing.
