Had an extra 4x8 sheet of rigid xps foam insulation I tried to return to Home Depot before they closed but they locked the door early.

Drove over to visit Ken Foster who's working on paintings for me and figured if someone in that neighbourhood stole it out of the back of the truck then whatever, they must have needed it for sleeping on in an alley. It was there when I left, drove home, went to go return it today and run some errands annnnd someone stole it out of the truck last night on my block. Same thing - no one stole it to insulate a wall or get a Home Depot gift card; someone stole it to stash under a bush somewhere to sleep on guaranteed. Cost about $70.

Went to Michael's Crafts to buy one of their biggest best 5'x4' canvases on sale for Black Friday 60% off, paid for it, and some older woman in line to pay for stuff asked if I was going to paint on it.. no - I'm going to get Ken Foster to paint it, as a 40th birthday gift for our friend who tried to commission this painting years ago and never got it because Ken sold it to a gallery lol. She asked how much the canvas cost, I told her it was on sale so just under $50 with tax. She handed me $50 cash.. I asked why? She said "Because I had a good government job and I get a good pension." Uuuh, thank you.

Interesting way things balanced out.. not quite to the penny, but whatever. Some homeless person is a bit warmer and drier at night sleeping on an inch of styrofoam insulation and I've got the canvas for Kolt's gift from the beach. (I'll take up a collection to pay the artist.) Just weird how things go sometimes.. And it just sort of adds to the whole karmic story of this particular painting - the one that he couldn't get even when he had $$$$ because Ken's unreliable af, but now I'm gonna be able to get one done And it'll likely be better than the first since Ken's got years more practice under his belt.
