I still remember how disappointed I was as a kid when I found out the song wasn't actually about literal dogs.

It's a song about catcalling.

Yes. Its actually a "feminist anthem". Or so Ive heard.

But some announcer at some football stadium found the record, played it on the loudspeaker during the game, and it became a "stadium anthem" ever since, as well as putting it on the charts...with no one getting the meaning.
