"I am William Wallace, and I see a whole army of my countrymen, here, in defiance of tyranny!"

(Sounds like an endorsement to me.)

Yeah sure okay. When will Trump and Vance will start building the concentration camps to do unethical experiments on every person the two sobs see as sub-human? The irony.

^Personally, I was thinking more like a Civil War that's just as bad as, if not worse than, the robot war shown in the Terminator franchise.

We made it through two World Wars. We made it through the Cold War. We made it through Watergate. We made it through Iran-Contra. We made it through Monica Lewinsky. We made it through 9/11. We made it through Trump 1.0. We made it through Biden's dementia.

We'll make it through this, too.

I hate Trump too... I believe that a leader should be more professional, responsible and honest. Well, Americans made their choice, and they will take the consequence.

That would be true if the consequence only affected those of us who made that choice. Americans don't seem to understand that their choices also affect others.

I know so many pot smokers in my state where pot very much is still illegal who voted Republican. We even had a Democrat running a few years back saying she would legalize it. Same pot smokers voted against her.

There is no better example of Republican voters: "I will vote for someone who wants to put me in jail, but its ok because it won't happen to me it will just happen to others."

Its really difficult to take people seriously who would do that. Like how am I supposed to take your political views seriously if you are ok with voting against the party that doesn't want to put you in jail/prison?

Its like one of those... ok I am done things.

The elections were decided by the people who didn't vote, which were the majority.

Idk its like so many people voting against themselves, I dont get it. I figure more people would be less likely to shoot themselves in the foot. So hard to have sympathy for people who did shoot themselves in the foot purposely. So idk the turn out of this election in some ways makes me feel like I am done to, at least done putting so much worry on other people when they want to vote against themselves anyways. Like why did I care so much if half these right wing gouls die in childbirth, if that is what they want to vote for than fine I guess I should not keep feeling so bad for the people who voted for this.

I believe many people were exhausted by the endless campaign. I saw a polling question: "What one word describes how you feel about the campaign?" The most frequent answer was exhaustion. The only way to make it stop is to let them win. Give the baby her bottle. It does not work. It is a form of surrender. I did not surrender. I voted. But for others, it was a factor in their choice of candidates. In their choice to vote or not vote. Americans ignored the words of General Milley and General Kelly. We did not stand together against a known threat.

An important factor was the target disinformation campaign. Tell people what they want to hear. Feed their hate and anger. Make them afraid. It was relentless and effective.

I saw a photograph in my Facebook feed of a well-fed senior celebrating the election at Red Lobster. He wore an American flag jacket, beaming ear to ear, holding his knife and fork high with pride over his plate of Surf and Turf. All I could see was a quote misattributed to Sinclair Lewis. "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

I am afraid till proven wrong.

What I can decide is my mood. I can choose to continue down an old path, or I can choose to be in a peaceful mood.

Outside of Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso, law enforcement in Texas is no different than the Gestapo, the Mutawwa*, Iranian Morality police, or ISIS.

*Saudi Vice and Virtue Squad (religious police)

So if you're caught smoking pot or performing an abortion or watching porn (if it's banned) in Dallas, Ft. Worthless (both of which have GOP mayors), smaller towns, or by the Texas Highway Patrol, you're screwed.
