You should be able to get a chippy tea on an NHS prescription. I feel better already.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is chippy tea? Tea with chips in it? Are they like potato chips, as we call then in US and Canada, or chips as in similar to french fries?

I'm also curious to know. Such a thing is not known in my country!

Chippy=Fish and chip shop

Oh and "tea" is the word some people (me included) say instead of "dinner"

So you get your tea from the chippy and hey presto you've got a "chippy tea"

Thanks. We have plenty of traditional British style
fish and chip shops here but no one calls them "chippies".

It's probably just an English thing. I'm not sure if it's country wide though but it's defo a northern or northwestern thing
