Facing the possibility of going to prison.

In trouble for being abusive towards a female police officer, indoor dining in a restaurant in 2021 without a vaccine passport and for falsely admitting to drugs trafficking to the same officer.

Had a bad mental health break down at the time and having autism doesn't help. She informed me that I would be arrested once the investigation was over to see if I committed a crime. What sucks the most is wondering if I will be going to prison or not, and if I am, for how long.

This officer or ex officer is a rehabilitation officer in my college. The staff in my college disown me and look down on me now because of what has happened. Terrible situation I'm in now.

Unfortunately not. Can't afford it.

Reach out to whatever legal aid is available in your area immediately. I'm not sure where you are, but in the US, you don't have a right to an attorney until arraignment, which means that anything that could be done to lessen the likelihood of being charged won't be done by a public defender. It's stupid, but that's how it works.

If you haven't yet been charged, there's probably stuff that can still be done to lessen the likelihood of actually being charged or the actual charges if they do opt to file them anyways.

IANAL, so I have absolutely no idea what you'd actually do about any of that, but there are often times legal aid nonprofits that can help out since you can't afford an attorney. And, unfortunately, not having an attorney can be far more expensive in the long term than finding the money to get one.

Hopefully not. I'm not looking forward to getting arrested when they're done investigating.

Definitely. Hopefully I'm not charged with any offences. Well, I'm basically charged with the abusive behaviour. That's a given. Hopefully it doesn't result in a prison sentence.

I hate to think what it's like in there. Spending time in the cell, s**t food, prison showers. Makes me sick thinking about it.

Yeah hopefully that's the only charge and you get something like a fine or a community order type thing

If you go infront of judge....ask for extra time to find adequate legal representation...might add that you were born with autism..and has been historical extra hard for you to deal with people you do mot know..?

Don't think that would work in my case. I can't afford it unfortunately. I knew this officer for several months before the verbal abuse scenario happened so not sure if it would be applicable for me.
