I'm sort of obsessed with Japanese music (Dir en Grey, Miyavi, other rock), films, anime, manga, fashion, and food. Does anyone else here share the same addiction? Living where I live, there aren't many people to talk to about it, but I have lots of friends online.

Don't worry, I'm not that paranoid ;)

The Polysics are funny. I've only heard one of their songs though. Oh, Monalisa :D At least.. I think that's what it's called.

I've been to Japan four times, did various martial arts for forty years or so and I can speak reasonable Japanese. Do I qualify?

I love Japanese culture.

I began with samurais, because I'm interested in them since I can remember. Then, I discovered a lot of my favorite cartoons I watched when I was small came from Japan (Dragon Ball, Onegai Samia, Mazinger Z, Adventures of Hutch the Honeybee, . . .) and I loved their opening and ending songs from some of this shows. Also I discovered Nintendo (I own a NES) was a japanese videogame company. That were my roots of my obsession for Japan :D

Now, I love J-Music, videogames (almost all my favorites come from Japan), samurais (of course), manga, anime. I wanna learn japanese and kendo :D

For me, it's not just about the things that japan has produced, it's about the people and culture itself. I've bored people many times on just that subject. If anyone is reading this and has actually been to japan, would you please consider posting some pictures of your visit? It'd be very much appreciated :)

btw, I'm a fan of nintendo too, I've been buying nintendo products since the snes, probably about 1991. Whenever a new generation of consoles come out, my priority is always nintendo. They've earned my loyalty over the years.

Hehe, well, I'm obsessed with anime and videogames from Japan, and I tried to learn Japanese a couple of years ago.

At one point I wanted to move to Japan with my half-Japanese friend, but things didn't turn out that way.

I like lots of Japanese food, like sushi, Pocky, and Ramune.

My daughter loves Japan and anything Japanese.

She has an Uncle (on her mother's side) who studied Japanese anthropology (or something like that), lived in Japan a few different times on a Fulbright scholarship and whatever else, and now teaches at NYU.
I'm not sure if that's where the fascination began.

Anyway, she loves anime, manga, and the language. She started teaching herself Katakana, Hiragana, and Kanji with books I bought her and her Uncle sent her.
This was probably back when she was around 11y.o.

I wound up signing us up for a Japanese language class at a local college... I can't remember much, but she still like to cipher Japanese whenever she sees it.

Just about a week ago I was in a local store called "All Under Heaven", which has some really neat import stuff. Not cheap toys and such, but really nice items and books.

I wound up getting her a Totoro handbag, a plastic bento box for her lunch, and some stickers.

She LOVES this kinda stuff, and I have fun finding it for her!

I really want her to go to Japan someday.
