Just wondering if anyone has an explanation.

Chest angnia? (I know I didn't spell that right...)
Or maybe intense worry over something?

I sometimes get a sharp pain throughout the left side of my chest, usually seems to happen when I'm trying to sleep. It'll be something to bring up on my next check-up.

When I have anxiety attacks I get intense pressure in the left side of my chest and even down my left arm. Each time I get checked out, they do an EKG and it comes out okay. They tell me a heart attack would be more like an elephant standing on my chest. For whatever that is worth. Are you worrying about something or feeling anxious?

Maybe some form of an ulcer, because I have been stressing more than usual lately (sometimes for no reason!).
It doesnt seem practical for me to have an ulcer there though, usually you get them in your stomach.

Well I dunno my life has always been full of anxiety but it seems like its for no reason these days. I live in my room. Maybe its just from it being built up over time and getting out of control? Dunno...

Non-cardiac chest pain is very common with various anxiety conditions. But you won't know until you get it checked out by a doctor.

I get a variety of chest pains and my heart checked out fine on holter monitor (24 portable recorder) and a treadmill/ekg test and doppler ultrasound.

One thing I know I get (in addition to the anxiety related pains) is myofascial pain - the muscles in my chest form knots that created tenderness and pain. Massage helps with that.

Get it checked out!

What the person above me said.

Also, it could be digestive. I get some seriously wicked chest/back/shoulder/neck pain that radiates into my arms and jaw. Turns out it has nothing to do with my heart, I have esophageal spasms. Ahh, Gaviscon, I love you. Seriously, sometimes I do feel just mild pressures from it. The actual spasms are fairly (and thankfully) rare. I would assume with our anxieties, we're more prone. My husband gets them also.

Smart to get stuff like that checked out though.

I had never used my Vetern hospital stuff before. I was having bad chest pains, so I went. They looked for a long time, could find nothing, so they decided it was all in my head. That lead to my first offical DX, Bipolar, which I had to figure out for them, my bad, I didn't know about AS. If I had I wouldn't be in the mess I am with them now. After this they did find the hiatal hernia. So much for imagined pain. If it hurts and you can afford it, go have it looked at. Coming here to figure out such things isn't the way to do it.
