Did anyone see the Press conference by President Bush recently where someone asked him where the former President of South
Africa, Mandela is? President Bush answered, "Mandela is dead." I bet all those news journalists sitting there in the Press Hall were aghast and trying hard to stifle any laughs toward Bush. MANDELA IS VERY MUCH ALIVE and 89 years old now.

With "damage control" working now to remedy such a humiliating blunder, it is just another example of what great leadership we
have in the USA.

Bush making a mistake? No way... I don't believe it. I don't think that has ever happened before. :P

I think at this point I don't even pay that sort of thing any notice.

When he was down here in Australia recently for the APEC Conference he thought he was at an OPEC Conference and when thanking our troops for their work in Iraq he called them Austrians...
He makes Reagan look like he knew what he was talking about.

Look, Bush is bright. He does have dyslexia and even worse disfluency than his father, but he has obviously overcome his handicaps.

You better start working on that now, before someone else beats you to it.

Hehe, indeed, another is it "bushim" im not sure if that term applies here. Anyways, I give him credit, you cannot be dumb and serve as president, and leader of the free world. However he sure hides it well.

I will be shocked if all along he was right and years down the road when Iraq becomes a democratic haven and beakon of freedom and prosperity in the middle east then if I ever get to do it, I will shake his hand, until then...

Yes you can, if your father is a former President and one of your brothers is a state governor. Nepotism will get you anywhere...

Man, ya'll are thick. If you read the entire quote, it's:

Quote:
I thought an interesting comment was made — somebody said to me, I heard somebody say, “Now, where’s Mandela?” Well, Mandela’s dead because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas.

Translation for all you overly-literal Aspies (who're obviously prowling for another excuse to kick this guy around...): President Bush inartfully asserted that Saddam’s brutal rule over Iraq wiped the country clean of potential democratic reformers — individuals who may have possessed leadership skills like former South African President Nelson Mandela.
