Do you get jealous when you see acquaintances on your facebook get lots of birthday wishes? Like when you see someone you friended that you kind of know and they suddenly when their birthday comes, they pages and pages containing hundreds of birthday wishes on their wall by all their friends? I always get irritated when I see that. I don't know exactly why it bothers me but I guess it's probably bc I usually don't get nearly as many compared to most people. Also, another reason might falls in the same catagory of me getting irritated when I see someone post something on their wall and they get like 30 comments and 50 likes. Does this same sort of thing irritate you too when you see it?

Yeah, sometimes.

I think it has to do with my social difficulties in real life.

It doesn't bother me at all. I think it would if I were face to face with people who know me and who knew it was my birthday. Once I did what the black girls do and pinned a dollar to my shirt for my birthday, and it worked! I actually got dollars. Even people I hardly knew gave me dollars to pin on there. My daughter did it one year in high school too and somebody pinned a ten dollar bill on her to go with her ones.

(Note - that is not a racist comment at all, it's simply a practice that is common in the African American community where I live. You rarely see white people doing it but sometimes you do, and you never, ever see guys do it, no matter what color)

I do feel kinda sad about that, but what bugs me is when people wish me happy birthday and I blew off their birthday. I might just take my DOB off my profile on Facebook.

If I pinned a dollar to myself, someone would make a snarky comment like, "Didn't want to forget your lunch money, huh?"

It doesn't really bother me. I don't make a big deal out of my birthday and don't even tell people I don't know in real life when it is.

I removed mine, I don't like a big deal being made out of mine. also I didn't want a bunch of birthday wishes from people I haven't seen or talked to in years? I don't see the point.
I had a friend of mine burst into tears cus she found out it was my birthday, that day by someone else, after that I warmed up a bit to letting people know.....so, june 4th......It's my birthday today!

Doesn't bother me. I don't care about most people, so why would I care whether I get birthday wishes from them or not?

When it's not my birthday. When it IS, however, I feel embarrassed and don't like to get TOO many of them

I don't let it bother me because why should I if I don't wish my own FB friends a Happy Birthday?

Yeah it kind of bothers me, mostly because I only get a few people who wish me a happy birthday and I get even less presents. The only people who seem to give me presents on my birthday anymore is my Mom and my Nana who sends me a check with $20 every year. Yeah I feel so loved by my family.

No, I mostly don't care about them or their lives. I wouldn't wish harm on them, but not being interested is a good way to be.

I'm not on Facebook and I usually don't tell people about my birthday.

But I was amazed about this one guy. At his birthday, half the girls brought him self-made cake in the lecture.
