I did, just now.

I was staning outside, the wind was blowing and that was the only sound around. I just stood there taking it in.

simple but nice.

I've had several very good moments, things quite similar to what you described, but not one I would consider truly perfect. There were times in some of my travels that have been like that, with no sound other than the environment, the natural environment, and no other outside things to irritate me, just the world around me, and I find myself even now trying to hold on to them as the memories have already faded quite a bit.

The simple pleasures in life quite often seem to be the best.

As for perfect moment...well, I know what it will be, it just hasn't occurred yet.

2 perfect moments. both identical
1. In 2002, outside in a thunderstorm
2. In 2005, in France, on the beach in the rain.

3. I suppose cuddling my girlfriend a couple of months ago counts as well

Yes, several. Sadly, they are only memories now. :( The people they were with are long gone from this world.

But, because my memory is what it is, they are VERY vivid.

I hope to have more in the future.

Yeah I had a couple during this week. :D When things look so smooth or I feel so comfortable within I just feel overwhelmed with good feeling.
I get a bit complacent sometimes but what's wrong with that? :) I find it actually kind of helps... but that's not to say I become blind through complacency, rather I revel in good feelings perhaps a tad too much sometimes.

Best moment:

Visiting the beach in San Francisco with my three children, with the Golden Gate in the background, and watching my youngest make "sand" angels (as opposed to snow angels). He's the one diagnosed with PDD-NOS, and his love for the ocean is palpable -- makes me wish we were able to visit it more often.

Whenever I go down to the waterfront at sunset to find a ship is setting off and all is quiet and calm and without people.

When Stephen turns up or does something that makes me smile.

One of my best days was the day I received a painting of a Siamese cat from my friends on the cat site I frequent.

I can't recall any but I did have a weird feeling of happiness and safety and rightness when I visited the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. Later I learned that one of my ancestors was a fortune teller for an emperor in the last dynasty and would have spent a lot of time there but maybe I just liked that place because it was built with quiet intelligence and everyone else feels the same way I do about it. Anyway, I love that place and if I had to be a ghost I would want to haunt Temple of Heaven in Beijing China. That place made me happy and I could feel intelligence in its design but it is not easy to see if the place is crowded. I was lucky because someone local took me when it wasn't crowded.

Oh, sitting at a dinner table with an older married couple who were still in love and the quietness, the intelligence and the peacefulness was something I NEVER have had at my own family dinner table. When I left them I cried. It was amazing to feel what it was like to be in that environment and I had never had it but always felt that that was the way people should behave and to witness that such people existed made me so happy. Growing up I would often think as early as in the crib that if only they would stop just STOP. They didn't have to be affectionate. They just had to STOP being so mediocre. When I was four my nice aspie father decided that since I was mature for my age that I should be changing my teeth so he used RUSTY pliers and yanked two of my baby teeth out of my mouth. Screaming only made him defensive and shout me down and when he was stupid about my teeth or teaching his kids to hate taking a shower, my mother was right there and she who stands up for herself so cleverly never intervened on her kids behalf.

During my workout routine, there are times when I can get a physical boost from the mental connection that I make with the music I'm listening to. It's total uforia, allowing me to push myself really hard for an extended distance. The effect keeps me in a positive mode well beyond the session. I consider each onset of these to be a "perfect moment". I'm not sure what it is, but I know that I love it.
