My art studio in New Haven, 12 to 16 hours a day, working on two or three paintings and 2 or 3 large drawings on the wall and listening to the music that revs me up or calms me down as needed on my PHONOGRAPH! (also posting here when I should be working on updating my website and writing propaganda for my upcoming show during Open Studio Weekend when the Public comes through here and asks lots of stupid questions some of them, but some of them make it worth while. It's only once a year for two days, and it can lead to more shows, sales, dreams of fame if not fortune et cetera......(keep hope alive!)
I can wander down the hall and chat with other artists down the hall, though I am here much more than anyone else! There is a framer in the building who is here a lot...he is a very kind friendly helpful soul.
The love of my life has a studio down the hall too, where she is if anything more obsessive than I am and a wonderful artist. I love being with her and I love her being down the hall working away. Lately she's been ill but she'll be back there soon.
but I've had studios near her for 15 years, we are closer than close
when I told her I thought I was aspie she said she was diagnosed in high school
and it brought us closer together. we have so much in common, i'm in heaven!
and she's nothing like that woman in Mozart and the Whale, who sounds like my first wife
i've paid a lot of dues, let me tell ya, life can be sweet. hang in there, brothers and sisters!
