Tonight, one of the guys in one of the bands who played was dressed like a caveman..so naturally, somehow the topic turned to "Caveman" the movie with Ringo Starr...which is the one of the earliest movies that I recall seeing in the theatre as a child.

That movie had a huge impact on me...I would replay scenes from in over and over in my head...
and I had recurring dreams of dinosaurs.

Quest for Fire had a big impact on me too...but I don't remember it as vividly

I never really saw anything other then childrens movies as a kid, if I saw them now they would mean very little, tho i still could, after a decade or 2 still recite parts of the movie I bet. I have no real emotional connection to movies as a result when I was a kid.

One of the first films I remember seeing and stil love to this day:

The Day the Earth Stood Still

I figure it was then I determined I was not native to this planet :)

Love to see Mr Spealburg do a modern re-make.

Turner & Hooch had a strong impact on me as a child. The first time I saw this (at age 10) is the only time I've cried from a movie.

Not a movie, a children's TV series. The Singing Ringing Tree. It was shown dubbed into English and it was REALLY weird.

Balto
The Lion King (and its sequel)
The Land Before Time movies

I absolutely loved these movies. I even had the characters as imaginary friends for a time.

Jaws - maybe. Only the woman's torso scene. That was freaky and the actors were convincing enough. Exorcist - that got me thinking in a whole other direction. Love story - for the obvious reasons.

Oh! I forgot to mention... Toy Story kinda freaked me out as a kid. Especially this scene:

How is it funny? The way Woody talks and turns his head a full 360 gave me nightmares.

The Secret Garden (Kate Maberly version) was by far the most important movie of my childhood.
