Dancing is fun if I'm completely alone, although even then, it's a little weird to me. But there is no way I'm dancing in public. Some people say they really love it, but I just can't see the appeal. I mean, why add another thing to the list of what people can judge you on? More stress! LOL.

What are your thoughts on dancing in public? And what are some ways to avoid it, besides faking a leg injury or avoiding every clubbing/party invitation of your life? (Maybe those are the only ways to avoid it, haha.) Can you pretend to be very cool and stand to the side and watch without participating, or does ever work? Hmm...

I think that you can definitely stand to the side and just watch. Especially if you have a drink in your hand. The only problem with this is if you get a very persistent person who begs to drag you out on the dance floor . . . then you're in trouble . . .

Sometimes I like to dance in the street, and sing at the top of my lungs while I do so. But I could never dance in an actual dance club or party. Too many people would focus on me, I know it. I prefer to dance when no-one is expecting it, and where I can run away if too many people stare.

I don't dance.

I would never dance if possible, but sometimes I try to act comedic and do a terrible dance. Just to make others laugh.

I like to dance at home by myself (in a Napoleon Dynamite style  ) but do my utmost to avoid it in public.

I love dancing. I dance at home a lot. I dance if it's a party and I'm in the mood.
If you don't like to dance in public though, well, don't do anything you don't want to do. What kind of places do you go to? If it's somewhere where everyone else is dancing I could see it might be a bit awkward. Is it other people who are dancing you're worried about? Because they're probably too busy concentrating on what they're doing themselves to be watching you. If it's people standing around, then you could head for the middle of the dancers (so they can't see you :))
But if you'd really like to dance...what the heck, I'd do it anyway :D life's too short to care what other people think.

have been accused of dancing before because of rocking whilst standing outside precinct [occasionally sitting outside to].
either rock when sitting,or do it when standing, but people seem to assume because am wearing ear defenders [thats' 'headphones' in pillock language] am listening to music [when they are completely different] they have to drag am into reality just to mention [they think] am dancing, pointless.
not long ago,was near a bus stop with staff,an old man [who goes on walks on the same road every day] who walked past, interrupted the rocking,he was actually nice about it and said he wished he could do that, autie stims FTW.

Dancing is actually dead useful in that it gets you out of having to make conversation with anyone. I don't think anyone really cares how good you are because they are concentrating on themselves and probably too pissed to focus anyway.

I recommend staying in the nearest pub until you are sure everyone in the party/club will have destroyed at least 50% of their mental capacity with alcohol and drugs. Then you can pretend you're in your room, people are paying about as much attention.

Only if feeling a little more than tipsy....having a few drinks has been known to kill my paranoia, but just a little...

Only people that will ever see me dance stone cold sober are my children and well, they think I am wild and out of control.

I used to break dance in Middle School. But that was pretty much it. Chickjs would ask me to dance at school dances, parties, and bars and I would, only because I felt bad saying no. It was always awkward when the song ended and I stood there saying nothing and finally turning around and going back to whatever corner I was in before I was asked.

I love dancing. I love going to clubs and dancing. Pour two drinks in me and get an instant dance star! I wish I could do it more. I think maybe I wouldn't feel so supremely stressed out if I could go dancing once a week like I used to. I so miss the 80's sometimes.

The only way I can enjoy dancing in public is being on Pump It Up, I love that dancing simulator videogame :D

I love to dance!

...in the privacy of my own home. With nobody around, except for maybe my toddler. Hehe.
The only times I've ever danced in public, I was under the influence of something, shall we say...

Otherwise, it aint happening. My brain gets the best of me before I an even think about making the attempt. It's like I don't even know what to do AT ALL. At home, it's incredibly fun. ho hum...
