Arrghh! I never understood people who seemed addicted to Chapstick, until now.

I bought a Chapstick because it was coconut-flavoured, started feeling like my lips were really dry whenever I didn't use it, and now I must have some sort of lip balm within reach at all times. It's driving me nuts!

*Looks at the tube of lip balm on her desk…*

I look at it this way, it’s better than reaching for a cigarette. It’s become a nervous habit for me. I feel a bit stressed, I reach for the lip balm if I don’t have anything else handy to keep my hands busy for a second. After the lip balm, I head after my pen to tap on the desk.

I only used it sparingly during my teen years--roughly 10-15 years ago.

I usually just wait until my lips are cracked, then use medicated Blistex that contains an analgesic..

Does Chapstick prevent the cracking? And if so, does it leave a greasey film on your lips?

I must confess I have something of an addiction to lipsalve, it's become a comfort thing and I panic when I don't have it, I even just open one up to smell it.

You need to be careful with them though as some, ie Vaseline, will actually dry your lips over time.

I really don't like chapstick.

It makes my lips feel wet and gross. I will only use it if my lips are cracked.

If you live in Colorado in the winter, then you NEED chapstick. If you live in Panama, then you will do fine without it.

I just bought a couple of natural Chaptick varieties, and then my mom gave me 4 of the original Chapstick in various varieties (because she has a friend who works for Chapstick, who's always giving away samples). So now I'm swimmin' in Chapstick. I think I'm set for multiple winters. I really needed it, because my lips had aready started to chap a month ago.

I don't use chapstick.

The only time I do is when I'm forced to.

I tend to use it more during the winter because my lips dry out and crack and then bleed--- ouch. But normally i don't use it that much.

I used chapstick occasionally when my lips got dried up. I use to sometimes use the cherry flavored chapstick but that use to make my lips look as if I was wearing lipstick.

Now I primarily use either bistex or vaseline. They both seem to work better than chapstick.

I'll admit to being a bit addicted to chapstick. I'm down to only one container though, so that's a good thing (I think I had... five before that). My lips dry out and crack easily, so I use it at least once just about every day.

I only use organic citrus flavoured ones with a natural base like beeswax.
Have you read the ingredients on those pharmaceutical ones?
I hope my paranoia about chemicals isn't justified.

Now I would like some. Mmm, orange ones. Strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, milk.

I'd also like some strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and milk! Haha.
