Well, it's not as bad as that, but I have no job, and there a virtually no other places I can live.

You feeling better now? :)

rb, I do not need you to tell me that. I can imagine the whole sordid scenario, though I do not get the '97 reference. And by being connected to the land, do you mean psychologically or spiritually? I am just curious.

Hmm. Bit of a conundrum. I feel no obligation to live anywhere else, although I'd prefer something a little less hot in the summer. I believe the Gold Coast is not unlike Miami. It's certainly bloody hot in the summer.

But why this thread? Someone wish to evict you? Mr Prosser come along with his notebook and bulldozer? Or is it just existential angst? I am genuinely curious.

I would've thought opals as being distinct to Australia, but if you're saying our sapphires are good, hey, I ain't complaining.

Actually I need to go a little further north to be living where I want. I want to live somewhere that I can step outside my door and wiggle my toes on the Canadian Shield. Nothing but trees and rocks and animals and those few people I gave directions to.

aahhhhh....someday...:bom:

i saw a film about a group of people, a tribe in central africa, who after listening to a white mans rather incoherent effort to tell a story explained this confusion by saying it is because white men have to carry all their ancestors in their heads, because they have left their homeland.
i thought that this was possibly truer than it first sounds.

unfortunately my parents moved 3 times before i was 12, and so i lost all those connections and don't know what it feels like to never live anywhere else, and we (me and my son and his papa) moved when my son was 5 and a half; he said it felt as if he was suddenly much more dependent on us, or rather, remembering exactly how he described it in the light of above tribal comment, he DREW a picture of how he felt showing that he was "attached/tied to" us more, as a result of moving. He drew pic of us all close together to represent after the move, and pic of us all scattered over the page from before move.
That is interesting.

I want to move and sometimes this hellishly hard situation gets desperate... I hope I don't go through this much in my life because it's absolutely horrible.

I want to move... I need a better social life.
