I'm only a beginner so I was wondering if there's any experienced fish keepers here.

Sadly my betta (siamese) died yesterday. He wasn't a young fish, but I never managed to get on top of a fungal problem he had. Poor guy, I held him in my hand and we gazed into each others eyes as he died...it was tragic.

...so I thought I'd start a thread for fish keepers, also pics would be nice.

I like betta fish they are so colorful and pretty to look at. I'm sorry yours died. I used to have tropical fish but they did not so very well. I would come home everyday and find another fish floating belly-up and it was so depressing. So now I just have 3 fancy-fin goldfish because they are so hardy and last longer. I also have koi outside in a pond.

I got my daughter a 10 gallon tank and a couple of goldfish as she loves to watch them and its supposedly "relaxing"
Came in the room the tank was in and she had the air hose pulled out of the pump and was using it to poke one of the fish down into the "volcano." It died and I gave away the tank before the others met the same end.
We had a HUGE 150 gallon tank when I was a kid (my parents were into it obliviously) but don't remember much about their care. I'd like to "try again" w/ fish when shes older.
