Haha, I love Christmas. Some people are so annoyed when anyone mentions Christmas too early...and I am always that person they are annoyed with.

HARDLY! When I went to the stores on Wednesday to get a few last-minute Halloween items, there were very few of those, but shelves FULL of Christmas stuff! 8O

What's with this madness?

Oh... Merry Christmas to you all... in case I forget...

hmm, is it the 24th or 25th? never can remember....

The nice thing about christmas is that all cities look very cosy when christmas lights are lit while it gets dark early. Other than that I don't really celebrate it because it is and remains a religious holiday.

It's not too early to start thinking about Christmas; Walmart already has an entire section full of Christmas stuff where I live.

I'm not quite sure what I want for Christmas this year... I've pretty much completed my collection of Hellsing and Trinity Blood DVDs, so maybe I should start collecting another series. What are you guys hoping to get this year?

I could do without Christmas as it is.

I like the romantic image of a family all cozy at home and the pretty snow surrounding the house, singing songs, and all that stuff.
We got pretty close to all that with my former wife and our daughter. Almost, but not exactly.

I never remember getting there with my family when growing up.

I do not like expanding Christmas out to other people because it's too much for my to manage.

Heck, I can't even remember which day it's on, let alone who to get what for.

Too much stress.

As far as the religious aspect. That sort of bugs me too because I always believed it was supposed to be a religious event (which I do not observe), and it has been stripped of that ideal by all the commercialism.

Is this thread supposed to be more upbeat?

Sorry, if I'm dragging this down just let me know and I'll crawl off into my 'No Christmas' corner... 8)

In Poland there ALWAYS must be a carp on the Christmas table. It's our traditional Christmas dish. I read somewhere that anybody in the USA, England and generally more developed countries would not eat this fish because it's considered disgusting (swimming in polluted water and so on). Is it true that a carp is not eaten by you?

I do not know anyone who eats carp here in the USA. Not familiar with the reasoning since some of our other fish swim in polluted waters.

I want to win a big Lotto 6/49 jackpot, before Christmas. I can make Christmas very merry, for a lot of people, with a sixth of the 30 million that I hope to win, tonight.   (Ho Ho Ho!)

ahaha! I don't gamble but still... It's a good idea... I'd buy the ultimate stretch limo that could fit everyone in the world inside... while a formula one driver drives in round a grand prix track

This christmas is already sounding stressy... My separated parents have been playing happy families come christmas time for the past six years. Now me and my brother have pointed out to them that we're both adults, this ridiculous farce can end - BUT it means we can only see one of them on Christmas day. I want it to be my mum and her family, since my granny, (my mums mum) is not likely to be around for many years longer. But I will have to explain that to my dad... and he may well end up all on his sod since his is the obvious genetic source of my aspie-ness and a complete loner.

But anyway, I'm an agnostic who loves Christmas. I love the trashy decorations, and the dinner, and choosing what to buy for people.

You can't split the day in half?

Since I've been divorced, we split our daughter's christmas vacation, which means I spend christmas with her every other year.

But!

I get to see her either the day before or the day after (BOXING DAY!), I can't remember right now.
