Alot of the Finnish powermetal/symphonic metal bands play classical music in thier songs.

Kamelot is a favorite of mine.

edt: Dark Moor - Vivaldi's Winter on the Beyond the Sea album maybe of some interest also.

I'm a fan as well, but who knows why he produced so much music? Well, Vivaldi was the music master at a girls academy in (I think) Venice and each Sunday the female orchestra had to have something new to play in church. This explains why Vivaldi produced lots of small, short pieces rather than great long symphonies.

Check out the "L'Estro Armonico" collection (From the same era as the 4seasons). I think they were "young ladies" rather than schoolgirls. *SMIRK*. Prob. just as well he was a catholic priest.

I take offense to that. But I understand where it's coming from and why.

Vivaldi's music is wonderful, why besmirch his name?

There is no evidence that he was a perv. He was only a priest for a short while, a year or so. He left the priesthood to devote his full time and attention to his music.
