i need help in figuring out the difference between definate and indefinate articles. im having a test on it next week

I wish I'd learned Spanish at school.

I'm going to be in Spain in 4 weeks!! I've got a 'Learn Spanish' computer program and am doing my best to learn a few basics.

def articles are used to describe a specific type of thing
la mesa (the table) because you are talking about a specific table.

indef articles are used to describe something that is not specific.

una mesa (a table) is indef because you are talking about any table
