Post a sensation (sight, smell, touch, sound, or taste) and a memory it conjures up for you.

The smell of rain always reminds me of a water fight I had during a warm, summer thunderstorm. My sister and I ran through our neighborhood scooping up puddles of water in the gutter and we were soaked head to toe. I remember taking a hard fall on my tail bone on the concrete and I just sat there on the sidewalk for a while and drank the rain.

Smell.
The smell of Italian food sometimes brings to mind the time when (I was five) I spilled very hot spaghetti sauce on my knees and the were so swollen. My family didn't have the money to go to a doctor, so my dad rushed me to the bathroom and started rinsing my knees with ice cold water.

The smell of weeds in the summer reminds me of the years of summers as a kid building forts and exploring the areas surounding my neghboorhood. The best years of my life.

Hearing the word, "Schwinn" reminds me of people riding colorful bicycles in the park on a summer day, and smelling fresh cut grass, seeing sparkling sunshine, and feeling happy.

Rain has a smell?

You just have to pick out those little details to make people feel stupid, don't you. Fine, I meant the smell of dirt, grass, and earth, that has been intensified from moisture.

Sorry, that wasn't my intention. But I couldn't really associate a smell of any kind with rain. Anyways, no sensation conjures up any memories for me at all. I find it hard to conjure up any meaningful memory related to a sense even if I tried.

I guess I got a little defensive. Sorry. Your post about sensations and memory was interesting.

I remember being in Italy with my friend. We both had a massive hangover! As always we got a pizza, I convinced him to try a horse meat pizza, it smelled like death! I've never laughed so much in my life watching him eat it, him saying how awful it tasted, the smell was hideous!! I made myself dizzy through laughing, I had to go and lie down and get some sleep 8)

The smell of cut grass always reminds me of summer - and induces in me the desire to sneeze, since summer = hayfever :(
