As I rest my head on a certain part of my pillow, I hear a noise from inside it, a bit like a scratching sound. If I lift my head from the pillow, I instantly stop hearing it, but if I rest my head on that certain spot, I hear it again.

Anyone know what's up?

In rhythm to your heart beat?

Possibly, though it sounds a lot like something scratching from inside the pillow, nothing like a heartbeat.

Ina pillowcase? This has happened for months, possibly over a year, so definately not mice  . I wish it was though, mice are so cute and cuddly and those innocent looking eyes and those-*random fawning*.

Still affects the motion of your head which is the probable cause of the noise inside your pillow.

Anyone know what's up?

When I lay my head down (sideways, with ear to pillow) on bed, I often hear noises from outside my apartment better than when I'm sitting up. Sounds such as talking of the tenants (in neighboring apartments) or rattling of windows (travels through walls from other apartments). Also, noise from outside building, down the street-for instance, I'll hear motor of a truck running several houses away. It's the only alternate possibility I can think of...

Does this happen if you hold pillow against your ear while sitting upright ? Does it happen if you lay down sideways on bed without pillow ? If it's sound of your blood pulsing through your skull, it might be audible if you cup hand over your ear (when it's otherwise quiet in your environment). Does it seem similar ?

some pillows are good noise conductors - it could be anything from your blood to water in pipes. Don't worry unless you start hearing the noises when your head isn't on the pillow, or unless the noises start telling you to do things.

Use a different pillow, but the same pillowcase (if you use a pillowcase), and see if the sound persists. If it does then get a different pillowcase XD

Maybe some bug's nest is in side. Try a different pillow and see if you still hear anything.

You know, I have the same experience, but whenever I mentioned it to someone they would swear I was making it up.

It always annoyed me that noises I couldn't hear when standing in my bedroom would keep me awake while lying down. It seems like every snippet of conversation, every ambient noise, and every car going by was magnified. At first when I read your thread I was like "What?" but I think there must be something to this. Even vibrations from footsteps or people clinking glasses seem more intense.
