Do you start seeing it your head after you've stopped playing?

After playing Tetris for a long time, I can see a playing field and falling blocks in my mind.

After playing a lot of Mario Kart, I can see a bunch of little carts zooming around a racetrack.

How about it? :P

Yeah, I get that but even worse.. they find it into real life.

About 10 years ago I worked for an industrial company with large drums everywhere. I got to the stage where I couldn't walk past a bunch of them without feeling like I needed to blow them up (Doom).

Later, I got like that about fire Exinguishers - Duke Nukem

Yep, and if I've been listening to a song for a long time, I hear it in my head.

I once played minesweeper so much that for weeks afterwards I was playing it in my head. I still managed to lose every time though

My cat has become pretty good at falling asleep when i'm playing forza and I hum the forza music to myself sometimes.

I can play that game for 4 hours or more and then go out driving and it just feels really weird.

I define each area of the town I live in as a Metroid Prime like area and assign music to each area. Yes, I know that's sad.

Tetris Effect

It's a real phenomenon. This is why I avoid obsessively doing any one single thing for too long, lest it begin to dominate my thoughts. It can happen with anything that you do for long periods of time, especially if it requires focus and concentration.

I also see games in my head, the same with movies and stuff. I can watch a whole movie just in my head and go through every line the different persons are saying.

It was at it's worst with games a couple of years ago, I was playing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit II for a minimum 10 hours a day at the time, didn't even go to the toilet or eat. I stood up as early as I could to play it. I was actully dreaming about it, I heard the cars drive around skidding everywhere I went. I was totally obsessed with it. It went so far that I couldn't sleep at night, I didn't eat becaus I was only thinking of it.

This was around Christmas Times a few years ago.

When I was more interested in playing games some years ago (when I didn't have the Internet  ) I caught myself many times that I was just thinking (while looking at the real world surrounding me, not the world from a game I had just stopped playing)how deliciously realistic its "graphic" was. I realised then how much time I had spent playing  .

So long as people don't start seeing the world in shades of green and blue with the occasional smiley.

all the time...

best case of it was when i played knights of the old republic (xbox). for the next few hours after my binge i couldn't go 10 minutes without hearing a lightsaber. my friend who was playing it too later told me he experienced the same thing lol.
