I have had the same nightmare ever since I was 2 years old.

It goes like this...

My mother is really, really tall. I am really, really small [a toddler I think]. I am outside riding my bike when she comes out and her hair is bright orange fire. She pushes me off my bike, lays me down on the path way and hits me over and over again with a stick. I am in the middle of nowhere, no one can hear my cries. When I scream for help, she just hits me harder. The last time she hits me, it is on the head and thats when I wake up from the nightmare, usually in a panicked state dripping with sweat.

I had this nightmare from when I was 2 years old until I was 9. Then it disappeared for three years and came back again when I was 12. Now, I am having this nightmare an average of 4 times per week.
The thing is, it seems so real...like it actually happened, even though I know it probably didn't. Thats a reason why it's so scary.

Anyone else have weird reoccuring nightmares?

I have about 5 or 6 staples which return every now and then.

I also get new nightmares, and normal dreams.

Once, when I was a kid, I had this incredible witches nightmare/dream that went on every night for about 3 weeks. The funny thing was that after a while I stopped being scared and started enjoying it - that nightmare always started a few seconds before it ended the previous night - like a reprisal on a cliffhanger. I started wanting to go to bed just to see what happened. I was sad when it finally finished.

I sometimes dream "part II". For example that I got a present, and in the next dream I'm using it!

Also, when I'm having horrible nightmares, I try to wake up. I've learned to move a hand (although very very slowly), and pinch myself, so I can wake up.
I know it sounds strange, but it works :)

I have something, I lose it, and it's on the other side of the world. I try to get there, but things and people get in my way. I cross water (and have to get up and...well, you know), or ice (I'm too cold, and need to get warmer..;) It's my subconscious dope-slapping me while my eyelids are shut...;)

I've had bad dreams about something happening to my cats. I worry about them too much, I guess.

I used to have Incubus Nightmares about this giant male cat, twice my size, that kept on raping me. He hasn't raped me, since I've had to start wearing Depend's, a little over a year ago.
