i just don't enjoy eating as much as i once did.
idk why. mystery.
but these days it just seems like strictly a survival practice.

Get into some cooking.

I know mostly meals to me are an inconvenience. I'm usually too busy at work, or too lazy at home to do anything about eating and 12 hours into a day I get to feeling sick and realize i've not had a single bite to eat all day, it's like 'oh man, i guess i should eat something'

But I enjoy cooking dinner, it's always more satisfying to enjoy something you've made yourself, and fun to learn what not to do if you fail at it =P.

I like to be creative. I made risotto tonight with jalapeno and habanero peppers in it. Maybe you need to take some cooking classes or watch the Food Network... Try some random wacky ingredients and don't worry about the cook book

Eating itself is OK, my problem is cooking - not much energy, money or time, or even space in the fridge...

I always found food and eating excruciatingly boring. I still do, to large extent.

Spicing up dishes, adding flavours you like can help.
If you hate the eating part I'd suggest something that's easy to wolf down, like soup or stew. I find eating a pain (not literally) and find that it helps if I don't waste a lot of time chewing it.

God, I wish some one could come up with a breakfast and dinner pill!

It's been that way, my entire life.

I'm all over the map on food.

On the one hand, breakfast and lunch on weekdays are very, very predictable. I have eaten the same breakfast pretty much every day since I started work in this building two years ago. Dinner is often an exercise in scrouging whatever happens to be in the fridge.

On the other hand, when I decide to cook, then I get very into what I am doing, and can turn out pretty extensive stuff. The process of cooking makes a big difference, I guess.

Maybe you're just getting bored with your usual foods?

Cooking for yourself can liven up your culinary life tremendously, and the internet is full of recipes, everything from outrageously easy to professional chef-level. Once you learn a few basic skills, the rest is just practice and discovering what you do and don't like.

And remember: the most dangerous thing in the kitchen is a dull knife.

Or you may be like my brother--he hates eating and wolfs everything down (then complains about stomach problems!). He says he wishes someone would just invent a pill that would replace food. I guess he looks forward to the day when he can get Soylent Green in capsule form. :eew:

(It's not a proper food thread until someone mentions Soylent Green. :P)

I have said more than once that I am waiting for 'them' to make a pill I can take in the morning to give me all I need so I can finally be done with the whole food thing. I am not always like that though. Sometimes I can enjoy food, sometimes I want to cook, sometimes I become so taken with a particular thing that I cannot stop eating it... food is a weird thing for me. Sometimes it is my friend, sometimes my worst enemy.

it's not that i hate eating. i love eating. but it just doesn't seem physically satisfying as it once did, stomachwise and stuff i guess. it's sorta difficult to explain exactly.

certain foods i still find enjoyable no matter what though. like Tim's Cascade Style Jalapeno Chips + a glass of milk. addicted to those.
plus some other stuff.

but genrally speaking, yeah.

Random:
but also i'm the type of person who practically never eats breakfast. it usually takes my stomach a few hours longer than i do to wake up it seems. so by the time i'm hungry it's usually nearing noon-ish.
but at times i do love a good breakfast. but it has to be substantial. fried potatoes, eggs, etc.
when i'm actually HUNGRY, i'm not altogether a big fan of excessively sugary or cold things like syrupy pancakes or cereal. need a real meal.

Now I'm sometimes hungry at breakfast time, but that's fairly new. In former years I was always like you describe.

I saw a TV program this spring where a health researcher said that it's actually healthier for your body to start with a substantial breakfast (like the traditional English breakfast), and eat lighter in the later meals.

Usually eat breakfast closer to noon....not an early riser.......

Try to eat healthy food for energy.

Protein ..... a couple of eggs an easy way to go, don't have to be fancy but are nourishing.

Fruit is helpful for energy also. Fresh is best and no preparation needed.

Toasted cheese and tomato sandwhiches are nourishing and quick to do.

That would make a good Brunch.... the above sort of stuff , and easy

Good luck!
