I went to my first con and i was great because you get to meet people with similar interests.

I think conventions are fun, and actually well worth the money. :) It's cool to meet other people who share your interests IMO, and listening to the talks and meeting actors is fun too! ^-^ Plus, you can often buy things there that you can't easily find elsewhere, and it's so much fun to just walk around and check out all the cosplayers' costumes!

Going to conferences or conventions where people are doing a lot more than just hanging out together, like at a bar to socialize, is the only way that I like socialzing. There are things to think about and the interactions with other people are fun.

Really, though, cons do sound pretty fun, I have never been to one though.
