I occasionally do.

How often do you get insomnia?

What do you find is the best way to deal with it?

LOL I'm up at almost 4 in the morning reply to this forum.... yah I'd have to say that sounds like insomnia. Happens to me occasionally when I'm stressed.

when I can't sleep, I stim or focus on something. I used to try to go to sleep, but that made me anxious, because I couldn't even though I tried, so now I just do things that make me feel good, and eventually I wear myself out and go to sleep. Good thing about stimming at night is that no one sees you because they are all asleep. :D

Have had it for quite some time. Got prescribed a low dose of Elavil (tricyclic antidepressant) and I've felt a little bit "high" from it a few times, though I don't know if it is really helping my sleep any.

I can't really see how anyone would manage to take this stuff at a dose appropriate for depression, that would be around ten times what I'm taking. If I'm feeling a bit "floaty" on 10mg, I have a feeling that 100mg might be enough to make someone just fly off...

Don't like the side-effects, so I'm going to go back to the doctor at some point.

I used to have it really bad, but one of the medications I take helps put me to sleep so sleepless nights haven't been an issue for awhile.

Sort of
I mean, it's hard for me to fall asleep - sometimes impossible - but once i'm asleep i don't wake up again for no apparent reason. I'm dead to the world once i finally get to sleep

I have insomnia when my mind is buzzing with ideas and possibilities. Otherwise I wake up around 2:30, see what time it is, and go right back to sleep.

Sometimes, but it's usually my own fault. Eating too much sugar or caffiene in the evening, or silly things like that. The problem is the silly stuff becomes not so silly at all when it becomes a cycle thats completely independant of the original cause.

I hate insomia. I get it every now and then. I should be tired right now but I'm not. I try to get tired by keeping my eyes closed hoping I will get sleepy.

I fall asleep OK but suffer from frequent or early waking. I've got Zopiclone to take if it's really bad, but I don't like to take it after midnight because I have to get up at 5:30am on weekdays - but as I don't usually start stirring until 1am or later, I rarely take it.

So I use it at weekends and try to 'top up' my sleep then.
