I will admit to having a low fascination with trains.

Check out my Flickr page HERE

I live in Columbia TN USA and in the main park they have a miniature train that runs on miniature tracks. And I have to be honest in admitting that it fascinates me to no end.

I even embarrassed myself during a therapy session once because of a train. Unlike the town I moved from, Columbia doesn't have a train that runs on any regular schedule. The train tracks literally lie about 30 feet outside of my therapist's office window. So when a train rolls by, it's a sight to behold. So I'm in a session and a train rolls slowly past the window. Mid sentence I get up and go to the window to gawk at the train. Realizing what I did, I just sat back down and tried to act cool.

Kinda embarrasing!

the Spiral Tunnels Railway, that I'll post on youtube

Later on that day, well after searching youtube I found someone had beat me at making a video, here it is, enjoy

most of those trains are multiple units of one description or another

now a proper train, and one of my all time favourite trains (albeit I've not been on one in years) is the InterCity 125 (Class 43 HST locomotive+8 Mk 3 carriages+another Class 43 HST locomotive), the InterCity 225 (Class 91 electric locomotive+Mk 4 carriages and DVT) comes a close second, both classes of locomotive were built by British Rail (BREL), as were the Mk 3 carriages

Proper trains :)

I do like da class 43 (intercity 125) n have used it a few times but some of them have been re engined so nowadays they have MTU which in my opinion is a s**thole i much prefer valentas as when it goes past da station da engine screams at good speed n i have been on da class 91 but i don't particularly like them despite they top speed is 140mph.

This may sound a little freaky but I walk all the way down our mainstreet just to watch the trains go by. My little nephew is obssesed with them. He never gets sick of watching that Thomas the Train. I don't know much about trains except I hate a lot of noises except the sound of trains. Never understood why this is.

Yeah, a lot of the class 43s have been re-engined, though I think that some of them still have the original Paxman Valenta engines. I think the Class 41 HST prototypes used the Valenta as well

I do like trains and am starting to get very interested in them again, I recall as a child having numerous train sets, however only one of them was a proper train set, it was an InterCity 225 in the InterCity "Swallow" livery of the time, only used it once then it was put away sadly, the tracks remained attached to a large piece of plyboard, but the train and power adaptor were missing. I later found the train in a box, but never the PSU

I don't know what the fate of that train set was, I think it got thrown out :(

I've always liked trains, whether that be travelling on them or studying them or whatever :)
