How come so many of you cannot spell?

Seriously, there are a lot of topics misspelled up in here. Don't get me started on posts.

Dang...should have included "English not first language!", which is a legitimate excuse.

It bothers me a bit sometimes when the spelling is quite bad and constant.

Most times I just brush it off because this is the internet and I have never seen too many people worried about spelling or grammar.
I think it's partly the new 'language' adopted for this medium, and partly the race to post without checking before hitting the send button.

It is annoying.

What with all the spell checking software, I find it very distracting.

I can spell and can't spell. When writing with my hands, I can't spell for the sake of live, because my head goes too fast and I fail to pay attention, I am missing out letters or even words, but on the computer, I can spell because typing goes way faaaaster.

I don't mind it if something's spelled wrong. I don't understand why it's upsetting. My friend said it's upsetting too only yesterday, but I just don't understand why.

it's an easy mistake to make, I tend to type fast and when I do I end up with alot of spelling errors(but I tend to go back and fix them most of the time) of course I also look at the keyboard I'm not one of those people who can type without looking.
(I had about 9 spelling errors in typing this response.)

For those of us that have lived in native-English speaking nations for our entire lives, you have no excuse for not spelling properly. (The only one I can think of is if you're typing too fast to really see your mistakes.) Also, for those of you who just aren't good at spelling, ever hear of a little thing called spell check on MS Word?

I can spell just fine--perfectly, really--but other people's poor spelling doesn't bother me unless it appears to be intentional. For example, a post made up of internet acronyms and shortenings is less likely to be read by me than one that is well-constructed.

I can spell, but it's very rude to make a board about people's spelling, as that is their choice.

I do get thoroughly annoyed by all the horrible spelling here, but it's the same all over the internet. This place isn't special.
