[Beginning-of-sarcasm]

If there wouldn't be the concept of gender, there wouldn't be:

- sex diseases (AIDS, gonorrhea...)
- machists, feminists or sexists
- gay rights groups
- rape
- sexual abuse
- pedophilia
- zoophilia
- incest
- love-shyness
- divorces
- paternity tests
- marriages
- stupid sexual jokes
- gender discrimination
- men quarreling for a woman
- women quarreling for a man
- masturbation
- porn movies
- porn magazines
- kick in the balls
- stinking underwears
- men calling women "hot" on the street
- pregnancy
- women dying at childbirth
- caesarean sections
- periods
- hygienic pads/tampons
- sexual education
- male castration
- female castration in Africa
- men complaining for their small penis
- women complaining for their unpenetrable vaginas
- anorgasmia
- sex shops
- condoms
- prostituition
- sex ads on TV
- premenstrual syndrome
- genital shaving

In short, the world would be a much more peaceful and happy place.

Reproduction? Why not asexual reproduction, just like bacterias? I don't find it hard to imagine a person splitting himself up in two. LOL

[End-of-sarcasm]

Not that I see that happening, but...

I heard that if you cut an earth worm in half, you then have to earth worms.

I'm sure you have... it isn't true for the mostpart though, only a few species of worms do that. I find the complications if human did that quite disturbing... someone has their arm amputated in an accident and the next day he has an identical twin 8O

A world without sex would be cool by me, but asexual reproduction regrettably means no evolution, unless we also addopt the ability to exchange properties by plasmides. That would also make problems though, as everyone wouldd addopt the properties of the same few super intelligent/strong/charming/whatever people, and so evolution would again be at a holt.

Ah, but we'd be an asexual species with ever growing knowledge in genetic engineering. Some solution's bound to come up.

With asexual reproduction, there would be no need for males. Think about that one. 8O

You poor men would become obsolete and my social life would suck.

Without the dance of the genes, there would be no natural selection and the first generation of the world would have died off and there would be no life presently or at all unless you first assume it could develop on its own, but without copying-error reproduction it goes nowhere fast.

Hmm, I hadn't thought about that actually, with genemanipulation of humans illigal it just never occured to think about it. If we were an asexual species our DNA would be bound to be much simpler to manipulate, so we might already have had all the answears if we were.

There is a bread of lizards which consists of only females, they seem very peaceful. with none of that fighting over mates that we normally expect from animals. They are also one of the species of animals known for having same-sex "relations"

I'm remembering "The Thing", I think it was 1951, where explorers discover an alien frozen in ice at the North Pole. It reproduces asexually. Little sprouts form on its hands, and then grow full size. Makes you wonder what society would be like without all the energy spent on all the side issues of reproduction.

I would be happy without sex (if there was a way to reproduce that was better of course), as I have no desire to be sexually active or to risk all of these dieases.
This should be in the Adult or some other board in which kids who don't know the birds and bees aren't at risk for seeing this.

You're joking, yes??

With the Inter-web, kids can know all they want. Meself, I had to save up money and buy Playboy magazine.

Then we would simply be viruses and bacteria that just kept multiplying. Nothing could stop us!
