No, actually mine is quite limited, and I always feel like I don't have enough tools to adequatly get my ideas across.

My vocabulary is quite big, but I limit myself when talking to other people.

To quote one of my husband's friends, "Speak English, woman!" I've had people ask me to define words that I use. I've also had someone accuse me of making words up.

Tact, lulled, soporific and schwa yeah... I made those up.

mine is fairly limited also, by choice, I know the words, but don't like to show off, I don't think it impresses anyone except yourself.

I feel the same way. I do have a bigger vocabulary than most people but I still find it inadequate for expressing my level of intelligence. It feels arrogant to say that but I think it’s true.

I am an insouciant recidivist, but I don't allow it to infarct the disambiguation of my ideology.

I, too, have a large vocabulary. Makes me sound like a pompous a$$, but I don't care.

I also have a big vocabulary. I used to flaunt it, in order to get people to see how intelligent, I really am. I just use it, when the mood strikes me, now.

One stereotype of Americans I've often heard from foreigners is that a lot of us go to other countries and expect everybody to speak and understand english.

I think it's about the same with vocabulary ranges within the same language. No sense expecting people to understand you when they don't.

Big words don't mean you're smart, or even skilled with language. Take a look at some really good literature, poetry especially, and see how much they use fancy words hardly anybody understands.

Like E.B. White and Strunk said in the classic, The Elements of Style, "Never use a twenty dollar word when there's a twenty five center handy."

Okay, I gotta admit, I share your vice. It is nice running language directly from the brain to the mouth without censorship. I just don't do it all the time. Depends on who I'm talking to.

I have a very large vocabulary (probably because I read a lot) and it really helped me on the SAT verbal when I took it :)
