This question is for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores who eat fake meat sometimes. I just turned vegan a little over a week ago, but I don't like awhole lot of fake meats. So, what are your favourite brands and what are your favourite types of things that particular brand makes?

I love Burger King veggie burgers. They are an actual brand (can't think of the name right now), but they do not sell the around here. Sol veggie burgers are also really good. I think Tofurky is a superior brand too.

What do you like?

I have no idea where you are in the world, but Redwood's stuff is great. I'm a vegan and not too keen on fake meat, but if I ever use any, it's theirs.

Quorn is my favorite. There is also this thing i tried once which was made with seeds of some sort, it tasted just like chicken nuggets. Falafel is also a very tasty fake meat.

Field Roast sausages(chopped up in spaghetti, etc) and Boca chik'in, I don't know if you can find them outside North America. I also really like Whole Foods vegan chicken. Burger King's veggie burgers aren't vegan in the U.S. though.

Quorn is the only fake meat I've ever liked. But only the mince and fake chickeny pieces. Personally I prefered tofu, lentils and beans, and other actual food over fake meat substitutes.

My favorite is Boca Chick'n Nuggets, but I don't know if they're vegan. I like them better than real chicken nuggets/tenders.

I like Boca patties. I also like ground Boca...I used it with spaghetti sauce to make a meatless meat sauce.

Amy's Kitchen makes some really good veggie patties. Get the 1/4lb patties if you can find them. They have a bunch of other products that are vegan.

Quorn is good. I particularly like their turkey patties, really good.

FYI, Burger King uses Morningstar Farms for their veggie burgers. Morningstar Farms also makes really good breakfast sausage patties. They make a spicy black bean burger patty that's pretty good, and I think it may be vegan.

I don't know if any of these are vegan, but they might be worth checking out.

Oh, I totally do too! I am having a lot of trouble getting in the proper protein on days when I work and go to school though. Sometimes I just feel too lazy on those days, so I will toss a veggie burger on the BBQ. I am definitely a lover of beans and legumes from scratch more though.

White Mountain vegetarian fajitas, basically sliced wheat gluten in barbecue sauce.

They also make an awesome Tofu "no-egg" salad.

Boca used to be my favourite brand around here, and now they no longer sell it! I used to love their burgers and chicken nuggets.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! Unfortunately, I haven't heard of the majority of these brands. :( I think I might check at the health food store though--maybe they special order some of these in.

The choice of these kind of things have improved in the UK in recent years, but I think there is much more available in the US than over here. My local Co-op has about 3 items in the vegetarian section. Unimpressive. :)
