YES!
Not only do I own a Mac computer... I also drive a PRIUS!
Just got it yesterday.

I really needed a new vehicle and I didn't want another truck (I'm keeping the old one because it still runs okay but not real reliably, plus it has four wheel drive for those special occasions), and through circumstances not of my own doing I acquired enough funds to pretty much pay for the car.

The car...

It's RED
My daughter picked it out... we didn't have a lot of choice anyway.
I would have gone for the Grey or Dark Blue, but I didn't want to special order one.

This is a really weird car!
I keep this little remote in my pocket and when I approach the car and place my hand on the door handle.. the car beeps and unlocks for me.

Then I sit down inside, put my foot on the brake, push the 'POWER' button and the darned thing turns on!
Toggle the little joystick-like shift lever to the D space and it's ready to drive away... NO NOISE! ... FREAKY! 8O

My daughter and I can actually hear the radio in this thing AND we can plug the ipods straight into the stereo!

In the truck, it was so noisy we just kept the stereo off most of the time.

Plus, now I have room for her and her friend(s).

I'm really not a PRIUS SNOB, but I do think this car and the whole concept is really cool!

I'm still hoping to build my daughter her own electric car in the next two years for the day she is of age to drive.
I'm shopping for a Volkswagen Cabriolet/Rabbit.
I've already got the source lined up for the electric conversion for it.

I figure an electric car is perfect for the parents of a teen driver...

1. limited range - 30 miles or less on a charge
2. limited speed - < 60 mph, although with the right parts some folks build electric cars that burn rubber!
3. quiet so you don't have to hear them drive away from the house or back to it late at night.... oh... wait... that's a plus for the teen... not the parent!

It's nice to have a new car. And the fuel economy is a real bonus with gas prices sucking so bad (I have a Dodge Dakota-ouch!). Enjoy your car,but be careful of the smoog! :hail:

That sounds cool, With most cars you have to buy useless Ipod connection wires n' stuff. We have a small machine you attach to your ipod, and it interferes with the radio signals and plays what you have on. It's a bit more techy than a prius's ipod system I reckon, Seems like you've got competition. 8)
Just kidding...

granted that car is supposed to be environmentally friendly but I cannot stand them

I wouldn't want to drive one

That's the truck I have... a Dodge Dakota with the itsy bitsy club cab.
I bought that truck up in Alaska, brand new in 1992.
It's been a great truck but it has over 200K miles now and I'm getting a bit concerned about driving it on long trips out of town.
I plan on spending some money to have a few things brought up to 'new-like' condition so it will last me years more.
I'll just keep it for when I need a four-wheel drive (up in the mountains), or a pickup to pull my trailer for hauling junk/trash.

I agree with the gas expense...OUCH is right!
I've already driven enough miles in the Prius to require me to stop for a fillup in the Dakota, yet my gas gauge on the Prius isn't even reading 1/4 less than full at the moment!
GOTTA LOVE IT! :D

to type in color... use the brackets [] and for the first set put in... color=red, then for the ending brackets [] put in... /color

Sorry I can't help you with the driving a car thing... but if I make it to your neck-of-the-woods, I'll let you drive the Prius... we can even get pictures so you have proof! :D

THANKS CockneyRebel! Red... just like your buses huh? :D

I've got about three of those sorts of devices and I've used them in my truck.
The cassette adapter is the worst, the cup-holder Macally model burned out it's brains, and the other radio-sending unit works alright.
I really like to just plug the ipod into the aux port though... so much simpler and direct.
Of course, my teenage daughter keeps plugging HER ipod in, instead of mine!

I commend you and must admit that I am envious.
I looked online for one when I was going to buy a new car and apparently there isn't one in the whole state for sale. Not only does your gas mileage sound formidable, but the thought of a noiseless engine sounds really good to me.

I offer unto thee a deep curtsy, as Ive always had a problem with both authority and following direct orders. :D

Are you a member of USAA?
I got a real good quote from their car-buyer service.

Oh, and can you get me a picture of vid of that curtsy?
I need something I can blackmail you with later.

Nice. 8) Neighbor's sister has a hybrid civic...she loves it.

I've become a total truck convert though...never totally saw the wisdom in owning a pickup until after a few yard sales...now it's become crystal clear for me.

I plan to make my 2002 Ford Focus last me until I graduate, then get a luxury SUV when I get the money.

why would you automatically assume he's "making it up?"
I don't understand. Am I misinterpreting the language of the Internet? Is it all lies, and smoke and mirrors w/ out a picture to "Prove" it?
I feel 100% confident wsmac HAS a Prius.
