In a forum this big, I figure there have to be a few people who've gotten a tattoo. I have a handful, and I plan on a good many more. I know a lot of people think getting ink is stupid and so forth, and I'll be the first to say that you should definitely put some real thought into what you get..but regardless, they're a fantastic means of expression and art.

I'll get the ball rolling with mine.
First, my newest - oriental brush-stroke peace sign on the inner right forearm:

Number two, my biggest one, the golden apple of Eris/Discord inside a chaos star:

Number three, a barcode on my left inner forearm:

Number four, my first one - an ankh on my right upper arm:

Last, on the back of my neck:

They look nice.
I like the peace symbol. I've never seen one done to replicate brush strokes... nice touch!

I don't have tattoos myself... not sure I'll ever have one.

I'm curious about yours... the meaning behind them (especially something like the barcode one... how many people have asked you if it really works? ).

Around where I live, tattoos are a pretty common thing.
It's crossed social boundaries in recent years, maybe in concert with the HarleyYuppieDavidson thing or ProWrestling?

If the tattoos have some significance other than "Hey I was drunk!" or "Hey I'm a WannaBe!", I find them more appealing.

In the last 12 years here in Northern Coastal California, I have noticed more young Yurok and Wiyot indians getting their traditional tattoos.
Here's a picture of one I see on women... sometimes the stripes are wider, but I believe it's always three.

One thing I can tell you about prison tatt's....

When the arm is covered in them... it can be harder to find veins for I.V.'s or blood draws unless the veins stick up proud.

I've seen very, very, few prison tatt's that can match up to a good professional shop... but then, you have to consider what each one is working with

I like that one of the apple of discord :)

I'm pretty sure I could never have a tattoo, though, because I dislike needles so much. And then there's the fear that once it was done I'd think "Damn, I wish I hadn't done that".
