How much does the average girl cost?

I mean relationship wise, before (dating) and then after (if married)
the upkeep and expenses, many men say girls are VARY expensive,
and that if you do not show the girl she is worth it now and then
by spending on her then she may dump you and move on.
I know not all girls are that way, but by what I seen MANY are.

If I were to look at how much money I've spent since I've been with my wife versus how little I would have spent if I'd been alone it would add up quick. Here's just the big things.

$33000 new car
$10000 wedding

Add in roughly $700 per month in bills I wouldn't otherwise have, her constantly rotating wardrobe, and anything she has ever wanted to get for our girls. I'd say about a quarter million in five years. And I would gladly double or triple that. She's worth it.

well lets see,
My first girlfriend (and now my ex-wife) cost me
Dating (100$) where I owed no more then 40$ to an electric company,
marrage of 14 years/ 30,000$ as of which I am still depted.

My second girlfriend (tha mother of my second child) of nearly 3 years.
Dating (100$)
relationship/child/legal fees/etc /(so far 20,000) 35,000$ (this is counting child support till my son moves out on his own, not counting future legal custody dispute fee's).

A girl doesn't cost you money, you just pay for the affection and other service you receive for her. See it as an investment rather than as an expense. Basic economical principle "money can be exchanged for goods and services"

Honestly, I don't think it makes sense to calculate this. Expenses of life in general vary geographically, vary depending on one's lifestyle, and other than that if you have a really nice girl you should praise yourself lucky rather than thinking about finances

I don't know, I'm used to being on a small budget.

If it includes kids after marriage it's probably a lot. Women tend to do the buying for their children when you look at statistics in households.

Other than that, I have no clue.

I will say my sister's been taking care of lazy husband for a long time now. So she would probably be the minority of this study.

I know there are a lot of women out there with extravagant things. I go to a mall or something and am shocked out how much a single girl will buy!!

Sometimes I wonder if it's her job or her boyfriend/hubby.

Didn't like eating out.
Didn't even care if I went out.
Didn't want jewelry, new clothes, or presents.
No new car, no new house, no big wedding.

Relationships aren't cheap period though...with me it's always either cost me money or a some of my sanity. What is the price of sanity anyways?

I'm poor trailer trash...(No pun intended but I do live in a trailer down by a lake.)

Use to spend it like it was water till my dad taught me a thing or two about money when I went into debt.

My husband would probably only have to help out with the rent and stuff like that (and an exspensive ring made out of rubies with diamonds sprinkled around it!). I would have a job for my own interests
Children on the other hand would be more expensive
