Not really. Personality disorders are clusters of traits which are for lack of a better concept grouped as pathological personality types. There are severe and dysfunctional qualities in the way the person deals with their life, and these are distinguished by being largely ego-syntonic and non-psychotic. "Who" the person is, is effectively pathological in and of itself.
The distinction between a personality disorder and other mental disorders is not always clear. Their are clear phenotypic similarities between the eccentric cluster (Schizoid, Schizotypal, Paranoid) and say schizophrenia, and I believe that schizotypal is related to schizophrenia by genetics, indicating that the two are similar in nature.
Likewise, sociopathy is considered to be an extreme of antisocial personality disorder. It is not necessarily appropriate to view PDs as "just" extremely unusual personalities.
