is there any such thing as a feel good medicine or herb or something?

Just want to feel better overall. Sometimes I get this nondescript malaise that i can't shake. My head kinda hurts, I feel groggy, my mind easily wanders and feels like I'm in some kind of fog and my neck is stiff. Just generally gross.

Maybe it's that I'm still coming down from the Effexor.

I've never seen a more perfection diagnosis for the prescription of recreational marijuana use.

Rx recreational? While I like the idea, I don't think they (the docs) go around prescribing meds for recreational use. I mean, if it's used for something - to alleviate something then it's clinical, not recreational. Y'know?

Besides, I have a 2 year old to take care of. If something happened while I was high, fuggedaboutit!

The real thing to worry about 2yr olds is that they can be pretty bitchy about that s**t, always show up soon as you light up and wanting a tok, yet never seem to have any themselves, leaches. My 5 yr old nephew is like that. Freagin annoying

opiates are particually good- i had a little morphine for an operation once, and found it so delightful i thought of offering to allow them to cut of a foot just beacuse i wanted some more (thankfully the thought didnt make it out of my mouth!).

exercise really does help pep up seratonin levels; bit of a fag though if one's already depressed, though.

brazil nuts contain something that does it too- try this link;
http://www.doctoryourself.com/depression.html

and vitamin b complex is scientifically proven to combat depression- amke sure you buy a decent brand, though, not just the cheapest one.

comfort food can do it a little- carbs, or chocolate...

otherwise its love, or illegal drugs, really.

Oh yes there is feel good medicine.

Good diet and exercise. They will do for you more than any doctor or medicine or drug ever could.

I speak from experience. I was pretty depressed up until about 3 years ago. It was then that I started working out every day, then cycling a few times a week, and now I train for triathlons. The journey has been an incredible one. I'm not depressed anymore and I feel great.

Ever tried Bach remedies? They're for different emotional states. A practitioner can give you an appropriate mix of remedies, but the remedies themselves are available in health food stores, and it's pretty easy to look them up yourself in the available books.

This may sound woo-woo, but personally I find they work, and I know other people who've found they work, and even if it's only placebo effect, there's no harm in giving them a try. They don't interact with anything. (Only very slight danger is if you're an on-the-wagon alcoholic, as they have brandy in them as a preservative.)

Borage, Borago officinalis - Also known as the "Herb of Gladness", this is an annual herb that is mainly cultivated for seed-oil. But the leaves and flowers also make a tasty, cucumber-flavored tisane that produces a mild but noticeable feeling of energized well-being.

Feverfew, Tanacetum parthenium - A perennial herb that is used by many as a preventative remedy for migraines. The leaves are very bitter, but can be made into a tisane and sweetened. Effects include relief from tension and a general sense of well-being. Be careful not to use too much.

figured it out:

Sleep inertia. Instead of sleeping till 9, I need to start getting up at 7. If I sleep any later, I risk having that grogginess.
